ok i have a 2005 eiger can never get my air box sealed and not leaking with my snorkles.
 what you all think about taking box out and put filter at the top of snorkle   good or bad idea let me all no what u think   thank you in advanced

remember the airbox acts as the last stop before the motor so if water goes down the snorkels it can pool up in the box a little before going in the motor.  I know people have done it with no problems.  It a matter of choice really

You can add a trap to the snorkle like in the drain for a sink.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to help because you asked for the smart people.

i dont know about the jettin but i know somebody did the same thing on a rincon and it works perfect and this guy water rides all the time.

all u have to do about the jetting is open up the fuel  now i am at a 135 main jet i would prob be up around     a 155 to 170 main jet  its a crazy jump but its gotta be equle with how much fuel u have going in  but i herd the power incres from able to breath more is crazy good it just burns alot more fuel faster so no more long trail rides just did not no if anyone on here has it done.  did no no if i had to run i big pipe to small one for like a holding tank for air. and yes all of u are smart that posted up here  keep them coming thank you

opening up your airbox aint going to make that big difference in how much your gas lasts.

I think if you use silicone grease on the lids mating surface everything will be ok without all the hassle. Wink

Thats what I was gonna say. I just take marine grease and fill the little gap all the way around the lid of the airbox and you're good to go

I have alway used clear window silicone on the lip of the airbox....gloop in on let it dry while clamped in place and you have a peelable gasket..2.99 a tube

I used the rubber gasket maker crap on my airbox on my Foreman......works great....and I basically use my bike like a submarine   Smiley

Yeah. RTV and silicone can sometimes stick so strong it is a big pain in the azz to replace the aircleaner.

I guess if you used some cheap stuff from Home Depot it would work like Joe Dirt says....just avoid the 3M 5200!!

we tried it and it threw the jetting WAY off to have the airbox off.  He's got it all sealed up now professionally (or at least somewhat).

Got this straaaange ticking from the motor though Wink

It's all good, run it till it breaks
