my uncle is paying me to build his daughters blaster pretty much no expense spared budget and what i have in mind is a stroker crank, bore kit and porting (not sure about what ill do about the carb yet) as well as a +2 axle and possibly a arms (not sure about suspension yet) and im going to have the frame powder coated and get a graphics kit and stuff, toomey pipe, tires and wheels so basically im just asking all you blaster guys for your opinion on what brands are good for this and any suggestions on graphics, bore kits, strokers, suspension upgrades, carbs, ect... im not at all familiar with this particular quad and what is good for it but i know allot about 2 strokes in general and im a huge 2 stroke fan and know how ridiculously easily i can produce huge power really easily...

im not really sure about how adequate the carb is on these little things but if i punch it out like im planning im almost positive i will need a bigger carb, but i could be wrong...

i know blasters are dinosaurs and the suspension is terrible and its a small quad and all but hey it aint my quad, its a 2 stroke and i want to build it as bad ass as a blaster can get, as useless as a built blaster may be...

The Toomey B1 pipe is a good pipe,  but there are better like LRD for example. Probably some good info here.

the only thing im uncertain about is how and what strokers work with what bore kits? i know a +4mm stroker is going to need a taller cylinder, or is the difference made with a spacer or whats the deal there? i remember back in the goped days we used to make up the diff with an extra head gasket, obviously thats not the right way to do it tho lol

so far what i have in mind is a g-force axle, with 20x10x9 maxis razrs on some basic douglas wheels, possibly like a baja iyp wheel or something a little fancyer, and i remember somewhere in some thread from waaaay back some kid had some killer looking p[lastics on a blaster that looked kinda liek an atv and nobody could even guess it was a blaster, anybody know anything about that? and im kinda liking the toomey pipe the best

I cant really help you with the motor. The Toomey B1 pipe kit comes with a jet, ait filter, air box vents as well as the pipe. I loved the sound of it on my old blaster. The plastics your talking about might be maier racing plastics. Maybe Laker custom, but I dont know if they ever made Blaster plastics.

right now the most budget eficient route seems to be a ported top end stock ore with a stroker crank and stock carb, maybe biger carb not sure... btw, how do you like the goped moter i sold you? everything is working properly and such right?

If you want motor work send it over to TDR, which is now actually a site sponsor i guess. They do amazing work on 2-strokes down there and Tony is a great guy. I have seen banshees over there producing 115+ wheel horse power... Other than that if you want to do the work yourself go to www.vitosperformance.com they speacialize in blasters.. As for pipes and such, research to see what you want. I had the CT national "right-handed" (LRD is same too) pipe on my blaster and it worked out great, I have heard for a built motor there is no other pipe than that. Trenga Racing has a huge name in blaster's but I think there site is gone. Try to find info on them... Good luck, i'd say new suspension first though, then on to serious motor work...

If money was no object, then I would upgrade it by selling it and getting a Raptor 250.

blasters can be screamers lol i loved mine, but if its an older style blaster, 2004 and previous, you might want to look into ditching the garbage drum brakes from up front and install the newer blaster ones or mod banshee ones to fit it. I think i remember people saying that the little 200 liked a 34mm PJ carb if it had some motor work done to it like the porting, reeds, and a pipe

he wants to kep the blaster becasue upgrading them is cheep, and why the hell would you want to go 4 stroke instead of 2? thats a whole other argument tho. ill take a 2 stroke over a 4 any day...

i'm not sure why you would upgrade to raptor 250 if this blaster 200 would probally whoop it about everytime lol
yeah if it has discs up front its newer, and the front hood is diffrent then the older ones so keep that in mind when looking at graphics.

and yes, the 2 stroke is better/easeir then the 4 stroke for rebuilds and upgrades and a lot lighter as a quad. Also, if it hasnt been done get the oil injection block off and start mixing your gas as the injectors are known to get clogged and not oil the cylinder and causing melt downs

yea we are definitely getting the oil block off, every 2 stroke i have ever owned always gets the oil pump removed, mixing your gas is always better. what we have decided on so far as far as the moter is just get it ported, reeds, jet kit, k&n, and im liking the lrd pipe, but there is a deal on a toomey on ebay so that might be the one we end up with. as far as suspension, there is a set of +2+1 a arms on ebay now with tie rods for a smokin deal so we will get those as well as a g force axle. the frame will be powdercoated gloss black and for some reason he is stuck on a black and white look, he wants me to find a graphics kit for black plastics that will add alot of white to the bike, but it cant have any other colors but black and white... im having alot of trouble finding that. is it possible to paint plastics and have ti come out decent? it would need to be some killer paint to hold up to all that flexing... and yea, it has disks and the newer hood. so its 04+ right? i had no idea there was ever a quad that came with drums  Shocked lol

here  you  go !   a few  pics      i would  recommend  porting  and polish the head  and cylinder. a bigger carb 30mm    a pipe  reeds   block off kit   that  alone  will make it scream !!

that thing looks badass. i got a smokin deal on some 18" maxxis razrs on ebay, and that wold be my first choice for tires im just a litle skeptical on an 18" tire... i would have gone 20" first choice but its a good deal on the 18s and it could only make it handle better, and it is a small quad, i think the 18s will work out.

theres a place on ebay that will port the jug for 80$ and i send them mine and they send me another polished up turd, sound like a bad idea? i think im gona go for it... i wanted to do a stroker crank but it seem like that wouldnt be practical since a pipe, jet kit, and porting is already enough to almost double the hp...

still completely lost on the graphics, anyone kn ow of some good graphics companys or is it possible to paint plastics? anyone have white plastics and want to trade for black ones? personally i love the red white and blue graphics kit, reminds me of an old 250r, but he is set on black and white only.

it all depends  on what  the quad  is going to be used for. xc mx   if your going  the mx route  go 18in  xc  20in   also  go up a tooth on the front  sprocket.  if money  is no prob   get a longer swing arm +2 or 3   make a world  of difference .

ordering the a arms in about 4 hours when the biding ends, hopefully we win those. he just droped it off, i rode it and i think it will be a ton of fun once i get the moter all hooked up, it makes pretty good power for its weight so im excited to double the hp and see how it feels. those baloon tires gota go. im going to get those 18s just because they are such a good deal even tho it is just a trail bike, the lower the center gravity the better, its a 13 year old girl that will be riding it so im trying to make it as wide and low as possible. o yea and im going for a 14 tooth front sprocket...

thanks for the tip on graphics, ill look into that... i might get it all torn down tonight so i can send the jug out for porting but im not sure were im going to have it ported at yet and i want a little more time to rag on the bike before i tear it down...

are the boysen power reeds worth the extra money compared to the boysen super stock reeds that cost half as much? after riding it im thinking 1 tooth bigger would be perfect as it sits but with 18" tires i will want even taller, any thoughts on that?

Just the reeds alone wont do a 'world' of difference but will improve the throttle response, if I was you get the VForce reed system, comes with new cage, reeds, gaskets... This is far superior to aftermarket reeds on a stock cage.. If you want to make adequate power, beating 400's look into a "240 kit" like the one from Vito's racing. Comes with new cylinder (which has double the amount of ports than stock), forged piston and everything else needed. It is $600 but money well spent. Better and more cost effective than porting by some random ebay dude for $80. Trust me when I say this buy quality parts and you will pleased with the outcome, I have seen too many of my friends piece together bikes with parts from here and there trying to find the best deal with not much regard to the parts functionality and in the end  receiving the short end of the stick. It's ultimately up to you but become a member of a strictly blaster only forum like projectblaster and gather lots of info before you begin the build...

well im definitely going the porting route as apposed to a bore kit. and i will be getting just the boysen 2 stage reeds for stock cage as well as a jet kit and a toomey pipe is what its looking like unless i can find a deal on an lrd pipe. so i should find a place to do the porting but i still cant see why i how could i go wrong for 80$shouldnt just spend the 80 bucks and have it ported, the guy has good feedback and how could i go wrong for only 80$? its not like its going to blow up on me, at worse it wont perform as well as a 200$ port job would...

so far i won a pair of +2+1 a-arms with tie rods and spindles, and i won a set of 2 maxxis razor 18x10-8 tires that were used for one race for 75$ on ebay. tomorrow i will be ordering a g-force axle, reeds, 14tooth front sprocket, top end gasket set, cheep moose handlebars and grips, and a tusk clutch kit from rocky mountain. and then after that all i gota do is decide on porting, and find a pipe and jet kit. im trying to do the most for the money even tho its not my money i kinda cant help it... gonna try and keep it all just under 1000$ which is more than reasonable considering just doing a piep, jet kit and filter on my bike ended up costing like 800$(i was stupid to but the full titanium yoshi) and then nerfs and skids... i think im gonna skip the skids on the blaster and just get some cheep nerfs, no sense in getting  overkill expensive nerfs like what i have on my bike.
