what i mean is not using certain gas stations, like at a particular location,

it will take a while but a point will hopefully be taken

I seen an e-mail that was going around that said if everybody wouldn't buy gas on a certain day that would help but there again you got to have enough people to do it.Still like the thought of it though trx#9.

In order to save gas I like to draft behind the fuel trucks. I find it ironic and somewhat funny.

Everybody complains and bitches and moans but no one cares enough to do anything about it. EVERYONE would have to stop buying from one certain company and that won't happen. Americans (in general) are to lazy and don't have the will power to stick to it until it makes a difference.

Absolutely Mike. We were once a military & economic super power. Now all of our products are made over seas or outside of the country. We import everything. If, I should say WHEN the rest of the world bleeds us dry of our wealth since we are a buying economy, most have no savings & insurance. They will cut us off from oil & imports we WILL be a Haiti sooner than you think. We will be using the euro since our dollar isn't worth crap anymore & our kids will be learning to speak Chinese in schools.

We still produce a substantial amount of food for world consumption. If things ever truly get bad here you can be sure the oil producing countries will starve before the United States looks anything like Haiti.

UN rapporteur calls for biofuel moratorium
More and more corn is being used for biofuel at the expense of food, according to Jean Ziegler.
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food is demanding an international five-year ban on producing biofuels to combat soaring food prices.
Switzerland's Jean Ziegler said the conversion of arable land for plants used for green fuel had led to an explosion of agricultural prices which was punishing poor countries forced to import their food at a greater cost.
"232kg of corn is needed to make 50 litres of bioethanol," Ziegler said on Thursday. "A child could live on that amount of corn for a year."
Using land for biofuels would result in "massacres", he said, predicting a reduction in the amount of food aid sent to developing countries by richer ones.

That is kind of the point and reason our gov is promoting ethanol from corn so hard. We have a LOT of land and a lot of farmable area. We pay farmers to not grow crops. Corn to ethanol is terribly in efficient. If the US sold ethanol as 2% of the fuel used by cars we would consume the entire national corn product of mexico. Switching the average SU Joe to ethanol literally make food to expensive for nations that depend on corn export. Cuba's export is mainly corn Venezuela is also heavily depended on farming as is much of south america. Ethanol is about crimping our enemies, not about reducing crude oil use.
