My sister Meilssa returned home from her 2nd tour in Iraq this past Thursday. Her title is Captain Melissa A. Blondin HHC, 1-3 BTB, 1-3 I.D. Commander (that is a mouthful). On the flight she came home on, she was with 279 other soilders coming home. In total they brought 2600 home. I can not imagine how difficult this would be for a spouse, child, etc... It was so emotional for me with my sister. Our family was just a happy wreck, crying with anticipation. She was one of the first officers to march in, and she spotted us almost right away. All the families were cheering and crying, and those soilders all had to just stand there in perfect formation, it must be so hard for them. After a short speech they let everyone go.  She is guarenteed 12 months in the states before re-deploying. Please continue to pray for those still there and those who will never come home.

They wait patiently to be released:

Hugging my girls, her nieces:

With our mom and my daughters and the sign they made:

Heading out to get her gear:

Lets go!

I am glad she made it home safe-n-sound!!!!!! I am a Fire Fighter as well
as some of the other folks on the site. I wanted to say that all of the brave Men and
Women in all branches of service that go over seas to fight the low life scum that
hurt all that do not agree with their sick veiw of religion. Every time a solder sends
one of those vermin to the long dirt(sand) nap I rejoice Tongue Tongue.,for the memory of the
Heroes that battled these devils on 9/11 I lost 243 brothers In NY. God bless them
and all of the warriors that fight the good fight over there and at home.

Fixed it, thanks.  Wink

Thank you everyone.  It is so nice to have her in the states.  Definetly a lot less worry.  Hopefully she will get a leave mid - May and we can get her out for some riding again.

Thank you to her and all who serve and have served.  We all get to see a very small part on TV and  newspapers of what these hero's go though to do there jobs. What we don't see a lot of is some of the conditions that they have to live in and the daily things that we take for granted that they have to do without, lot's of times it's little things like a certain food, drink, showers when we want them, to see friends & family when we want to, etc....  There are a lot of things we don't even think about that we take for granted that they are doing without because they volunteered to do this job for us and our loved ones. If you are in public and see a person of our armed services be sure to thank them, without them you might not have the freedom to be in public when you want to!!!  Many thanks
