might have to start a fire in a trash can to stay warm?!

Nate, you'll have to bring your own metal trash can. If you were to use one at the track you'd end up with a blob of melted plastic! lol

Yeah fellas, your'e right, I don't run the same fuel in my weed wacker that I run in my bike.  Sure hope my dad's not up reading this cuz he'll start counting his heart pills again.  Ever since I watched that movie "World's Fastest Indian", I've been dreaming about THE WORLDS FASTEST HONDA!!!  I had alot of fun.  My bike sure did take to the mud.

Alrighty then, Nate, Is the two-wheeled tractor ready to race? I've got a line on a bottom plow that would fit it, of you want one. Or, maybe RD might have you hook up to the water wagon to douse the track down a bit! lol It's all good!
Would like to see it run when you've got it right!

Cool had a really good time this year racin in and on the dirt this year!

being a ol drag racer my plan for next years bike week have changed! the all harley drag racing assoc. has canceled the march bike week drag race at gainsville!  me and a whole lot of friends have gone to this event every year for the past six years! we have decided to go to the flat track races this time. i believe i heard that there will be a ahrma race at the thunderbowl and the ama race at the municable stadium. if anyone has the dope on whats goin on during bike week let me know. all my rowdy friends need to plan now for the time off. i also think i might get two of them to start racing.

thanks for any info

There will be an AHRMA and an AMA race at Thunderbowl for Bike Week this year. Plus we may have an Outlaw race during Bike Week as well. I don't know all the dates yet. Brady handles all the AMA & AHRMA stuff, but one of us will post the dates as soon as they're finalized.

The AMA usually runs 2 days at Municipal Stadium, 1 or 2 days at Thunderbowl, and 1 or 2 days at Volusia for the Bike Week series. I don't know if Ocala Speedway will be in the mix this year or not?

I also heard that AHRMA Bike Week series will be 4 races this year instead of the usual three.

Shocked well after looking at the requirements to race with ahrma i don't think i can afford it. if brady has a outlaw race with the usual thunderbowl requirements me and chuck will show other than that we;ll be spectaters.

Depending on where the AMA decides to race, I will do what I can to run it and the outlaw given the chance. Not too keen about running the Barberville half-mile without leathers. And that concrete wall on the front straight looks awfully hard!

I'll tell you what I know about Bike Week '09 so far.....

AHRMA is having a 4 race series this year, instead of their usual 3 race series. One of the races will be at Thunderbowl on Wednesday, March 4th. They had originally planned on being at Thunderbowl on the 1st, but when I spoke to Rob on Monday, he changed the date to the 4th. I don't know dates or locations for the other races, but I'm sure they will be on the AHRMA website if they're not already. I can get them from Rob and post them here when they're available.

The AMA promoter is still planning the AMA series. I spoke to him yesterday about it. There will be a race at Thunderbowl, probably a TT race, although the date is not yet confirmed. He expressed interest in running at Ocala Speedway again, but the owner of that track is out of town for the holidays and I haven't spoke to him. He also said Volusia was a possibility to be in the series as well, but again I don't know any dates. We didn't talk about it, but I would imagine there will be the races at the Daytona Municipal Stadium like there always are.

We have talked about having an Outlaw race at Thunderbowl this year. Shawn McNary and I had a nice one planned for last year, but it didn't work out because we closed. I would like to have one this year. We were thinking of running it on the Friday night at the beginning of Bike Week, but that's not set in stone. If any of you bike guys have any input in the Outlaw race, speak up. Maybe you bike guys could go on the different motorcycle and flat track sites & forums and see what the interest would be.

As I get dates or information for any of these races I will post them here and in the forum section of the Thunderbowl website
www.thunderbowlspeedwayocala.com

Thanks
Brady

Grin  motorcycle guys!!!    talked to rich at aurburndale today and he's putting on a race on jan. 16th. this is part of the auburndale fair city celebration thing they do every year. he said that if we can get 3 or 4 motorcycle classes comitted to show up , he'll let us race.  low gate fee and 100% racer payback.there is going to be radio, tv, and a lot of people there. this would be a perfect time to showcase flat track racing and get more spectaters and riders showing up!!

so give a yell back and or call rich!

lets go racing!

ok two wheelers I need some help.......

A friend of ours who has been a few times to TB currently has a cheap pit bike (125cc 4 stroke) and has been using that for tt racing.  His grandfather can get a great deal on a 85cc honda.  Will this work better for him on  the track?  He is 12 and weighs about 135lbs.

Hey Jayman
The 125 is better way to go. I started out on Honda 100 & 125 when I was 12. Mine were pumped up bikes and had some horsepower for a 125. Back in my day, the thrill was to kick 2 strokes a$$ since the 4 strokes were the underdog back then. 125 should be fine, 4 stroke is even better for beginner. Just pay attention to how much horsepower you put in the bike. Not too much too soon. It won t take long and he will be begging for more power.

Good Luck and look forward to seeing the Honda at the track. If you need any additional help, hit us up. We are all here to help

p.s. One of my goals/fantasy is to build a kick a$$ Honda 125 full blown with specialty frame & all. And then sponsor some kid on it. Maybe someday.

Thanks
