Hello all. I've been lurking and gathering information for a while now. I'm looking to put new tires on my 07 Foreman 500 Manual shift completely stock. To give you some background on myself, I am 6' 5" and around 300lbs. I have hopes of putting a 26 in tire on and I have narrowed it down to the Mudlite XL or the Highlifter MST. I will also be going with the ITP SS108 wheel in black.

With the Mudlite XL I plan on Putting 26-10-12's all the way around. With the MST's 26-9.50-12's on front and 26-12-12's on the rear. I ride in alot of hard pack, and mud but never any mud over the floorboards. Would 27's work with out a problem or am I going out on a limb here?

Should I be concerned about my weight and going up a size to 26's or am I just being  too cautious? Will my bike turn these without any problem? I don't want to be breaking stuff all of the time.

On another note How long should I wait before installing the new tires? I've only got 33 miles and 6 hours on the bike so far. I was thinking of installing after the 20 hour/100 mile service and valve adjustment.

Thank you in advance for all of your input and replies.

You'll be fine with the 27's, with the proper mods a 500 can turn 28's pretty easy. But you can turn 27's easily stock. And you can go ahead and install the tires, they dont have to be installed at a certain time. But yeah the MST's from H/L are great tires and you will be very happy with them.

The main thing I was concerned about was being 300lbs and going up a tire size and width. I'd like to keep it stock for now so mods are out of the question. Looks like 26's are the better choice for me now.

Thanks for the replies.

I've got an 04 450 Foreman with 26" Mudlites and don't have any problems other than not riding enough.
I have 12" on the back, and 10" on the front.
