I will try to give a better update when I know more.

From what Yolonda told me there are 8 teeth involved.  They were on the way to the orthodontist when I talked to them to see if they were going to be able to save them.

I am sure that Yo will get on and give a update at some point.

Pray for a speedy recovery.

Sam,
You know that you are in our thoughts & prayers.  You are one special young lady and a strong one at that.  We are proud of the way that you are dealing with your injuries and if there is anything that we can do for you, you had better call.  We will be buying you some new riding gear soon.  We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!  Steve, Reba (mom#2), Chris & Rachel

We just got home from Saint Joes Hospital and the orthordontist.  Sam lost 8 teeth in the wreck but we think at this point with some great help from our ortho and oral surgeon that she'll keep 6 of them.  We hope.  Her jaws weren't broke except for the spots where the teeth came out.  Oh yeah and a pretty badly busted up bottom lip.  But it too will heal in time.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts, prayers and calls, we really appriecate it.  We'll know more on Thursday.

Well that sounds a lot better than we originally heard. I'm sure the doctors will do a great job.

Our thoughts are with all of you that have sustained injuries this weekend!! We pray for their speedy recovery! We hate that with this sport, as we are all aware of,  is a gamble and a chance that we take, and often I ask myself why I allow my son to race, and simply I believe that Life itself is a risk, and that this sport, has brought so much emotions to surface, that I could not, deprive him of what he loves some much. In a day, where children are bringing drugs, guns, and so on to school, if they even go...To have a sport that keeps us  so very involved in his life, and to see the joy, it brings him and ALL of these young athletes, the gains do not outweigh the risk, yet make them worth taking.  If you should ask Samantha Cheetham, Jackie Eineder, Shane Johnson, and any of the other riders who were  injured, they would agree and tell you how excited they are in anticipation to get back out there! Just as Jake Gunn keeps bouncing back, TC Nales is chomping at the bit! I see a lot of casts on arms, legs, etc.. yet they still come to watch, and cheer on their peers! These are amazingly strong children, with great character and drive! I am proud to have had the fortune to get to know and love each of them! My heart goes out to your parents, whose hearts are heavy! Be Proud and know that your children are in a lot of hearts, and you are not alone!

Well said Karen Ellis. Could not have said it better myself.

My heart sank when Chris ran out to her and motioned frantically for the EMTs.

My spirits lifted when she stood and walked off the track.

No injury, no matter how small, is a welcome one but.....I will settle for those that these kids and adults stand up and walk away from !!

All those injured are in our prayers as are all those who will swing their leg over their bike and ride on.

The invitation was extended to us from countless of families during our son's injury and we would like to take this time to extend it to all of the families of the injured and any in the future.

If there is EVER in a time of crisis that our family can help yours.....please by all means ask.

Get well Sam, Jackie ,Shane and any others we might now know of.

I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have stood next to an ambulance offering our help to the parents of an injured child.  We have taken motorhomes to our house until they could pick them up.  Or what ever help we could be we were there.  Well it was our turn to be in the ambulance thank god it was our first and hopefully our last.  But I was so thankfull to everyone for their love and support and offering of help in anyway they could.  Just to let you know even though Jackie had to be dug out of the dirt she got that pile drived and was twisted like a pretzel the EMT though for sure she would have several breaks in her right leg.  Well thanks to the very expensive leg braces we had just bought she has nothing broken we wont know about any ligament damage for about 3 weeks.  She is out of racing for awhile but is looking forward to coming to the track to root every else on.  Jackie now has the new nick name of rubber girl.  We tease her all the time that she just could stand for Sam to get all the attention.  We told her if she wanted attention she didn't have to run herself over.  We wish Sam all the luck in a fast recovery you are such a pretty girl and you will be again once your lip goes down.  We'll get Sam and Jackie a handicap sign and they can drive around in the Rhino Sam has to drive Jackie cant right know.  We look forward to seeing everyone at redick and hope everyone stays safe.

I also wanted to thank some very special people first the EMT that respond to each rider down they are truly great, and the med fleet drivers those 2 guys were absolutely great with Jackie, Toby for all he did for Jackie, Mike from ATP he was also great, Kim Madl for being my eyes for me while Jessica was on the track.  Vickie Eaton for her loving tears that just showed us how much she really cares about Jackie and all our kids what a wonderful person.  Blane for getting me something to drink after I had to run across that track is was farther than I thought.  If I forgot to mention personally by name I am truly sorry there were just so many people and so many questions that I think I forgot some people.  But we do appreciate everything everyone did for us.
