It has a 304 with the edelbrock performer intake and 650 carb mild cam for torque .It has a spring over axle lift with 4.5 inch super lift springs.so it's right at 8 1/2 inches right now.next week my daystar 1" body mounts come in it will have 9 1/2.When finished it will be sitting on a set of 40 gound hawgs.

Looks great!  For a simple woods jeep, consider replacing the running gear with some 1/2 ford front and rear.

Little less Snap Crackle POP! when you finally have to spin those tires.

1/2 ton isn't much better than whats in it now.If I swap axles it will either be to 1 ton or get me another set of 2 1/2 ton rockwells like my last toy had.If you drive it right you want break axles anyway.I have never broke one yet,and have always played pretty hard with them.

I agree. I run 2.5's and 70/60's on my past and present "projects"
Was just suggesting, for the light weight 9" and 44, is a good combo for just a woods cruiser.

I've had a bunch of jeeps i'm just fond of the cj-5's.When this one is finished I will buy a new tub for it and start work on a new tub to make this one like new again.but right now it will be just a woods jeep to ride around in.That way my diesel stays nice.

when you have it apart coat your whole frame with por 15..it will help prevent the rust..we have done it on a bunch of show trucks..it looks good because its black..

i gator-guarded the interior of my sammy..look awesome..if you do that and dont like the roughness of it look at raptor liner..

Good luck I also bought 2 jeeps when I started this one .then I parted the other one out and have made enough money off it I have paid for both jeeps and just about built this whole jeep off my profits.I now have around $1200 out of pocket in it and almost done.working and 4 wheel disk brakes right now and getting the power brakes all in so people will quit telling me I have wires hanging.I need brakes ,fuel lines, exhaust put on,and wire the motor and light back up and we will be riding.Just dont have time to work on it much working 7 days a week and T-ball 4 days a week in the evenings.but one day I will have it done till I get 1 ton for it.

I will post more pics soon.I have been working 7 days a week so little time for the jeep and I have T-ball 6 days a week now.but I also have a nice 53 willys I just picked up for a friend till he can get the money for it.Has the F head motor and I drove it home for $700 very nice body, little rust but not bad for a 55 year old jeep.I'll get pics of it soon to.
