My brother and i were out at dade city one practice night tearing the flat track up on knobbys. They worked very well out there and I would be hard pressed to say that flat track tires would be able to perform better. Just my opinion! Its a different kind of dirt!

Tearing up the track is right in some cases. Most tracks dont want to see nothing but Flattrack tires. Out at Hendry there is no way a set of Knobbies could hang with A set of 19-10-10 Sd33 compound American Racers. By the end of the night there was so much rubber down on the track it was black in the corners. But if the track was wet ...Hang on!!  If you race Circle track the rule should be Flattrack tires only. That way everybody is on the same tire no matter what the track conditions are.

Depends on what type of terrain your runnin! Ive run some tracks where FT tires is the only thing that should be run, and ive run tracks where knobs is the only thing that should be run.  Your only tearing up the track if its the kind of track that aint supposed to be tore up!  But yes, Hendry Cnty was almost like concrete at times from what i Understand!

Ive been behind a quad out there at Hendry and you could see smoke commin of the right rear. In my race car the tires would squeel all the way threw the corners. Ha they call it dirt... Roll Eyes

If its been that long you night be thinking of a different track.
This track started practice on oct28th today is dec 6th, so we only talking a month and a week this track has been open. we waited over a month for practice days to even start. Plus we have been out there for every practice and other ths sinn who runsa few laps we have been the ONLY 3 bikes out there...

DADE CITY 2-3 MTHS AGO!!  WOULDNT TELL YOU A STORY!
Randy asked "POPS" if we would go out and ride the flat track to see how it was! We used to run flat track about 40 times a year about 5 years ago and slowly faded away for lack of interest.  But we still like to every once in a while.  The track is on the left as soon as you pull in, down in a valley.

400EX on this forum has run it a long time ago as well!

they have actually been practicing since august, just not officially...ware i didnt say you guys werent fast(you are, your dad is impressive on the r)just if you guys can figure how to use the top of the corners you will be much faster...sinn has been doing short practices breaking in a new motor..he is a mxer but has alot of flattrack exp as well...if you think hes getting tired from 5 laps on the flattrack you should go over and try a 7 lapmx moto...there is alot more maintenance on a track to run slicks only, and you have to remember randy is in itfor the money so hes not going to exclude anyone because of tires..who was the guy with the purple raptor a month or so ago?i should be there thursday nite ill come over and introduce myself, hopefully we can get more people to show up for races....cya thursday

purple raptor,,, i dont have a clue.... Our banshee's have raptor looking plastic..i dont think sinn was getting tired just more involved in mx (please dont put words in my mouth dont want trouble), since hes sponsered by OAS i dont think hes tired on a round track. i have seen him on the mx track and he can run, i ran a few practices out there on the MX its fun but it whoops me... anyway,  we have tried the top but its only good if you can get a bunch of bikes to push the cushion up other wise its full of marbles.... yuck! since august? everytime we went out there colin and randy said there was no practice and we had to wait until the track "opened". well, then where did everyone go then? i havent seen anyone else on practice nights? i think the first time we raced there were 8 bikes and the second time there were 6 FASTltz2 and i were both out of town that weekend...
