Question is what all should be looked at before they start it? I thought about changing the gas, oil, spark plug, and possibly cleaning the carb, is there anything else I'm missing to check before they turn over?
if its just been sitting then do what you have stated. possible rebuild carb ( just get a kit). but most impoertant , check the drive train. look under the rear of the engine and you will see a large silver wheel with a ruber wheel perpendicular to it. next to the rubber wheel will be a gear housing that is oblong. put the rider up on end ( like you do with a quad, this is the prefered storage position of a snapper) now on the oblong gear housing pull the top most plastic cover off and make sure you can see grease. if you cant the add some "00" grease ( called double o grease) you can get it from any snapper dealer. fill it to the top. that should get you going and going for a good long while!!!!! hope this helps!!
