This president will go down as the stupidest and most corrupt president ever. Along with side show thingy Chaney. I love the pictures of Mr. Bush holding and kissing the Saudi royal families hand the last time he was over there. Remember thats were most of the money for the 911 hi jackers came from. I guess financing 3 thousands murders holds no accountability. If you or I paid for someones murder what would happen to us. Usually the financier holds as much responsibility as the killer. Not in this case!!! Corrupt mother f**kers.

Alot of people bought homes thinking an adjustable rate mortgage was fine because the market was so good and are being burned. They took on more than they could chew and the finance companies should take a good amount of the blame also for approving all these sub prime mortgages.
Bill
Before people sign a contract they should look at it closely to see how much it can go up if things change. Some people think that our tax dollars should bail these stupid people out. Sorry but I don't. These people made a decision and purchased to much home and overpay for it, its their problem, not our governments. Seems when times get tough they automatically want to blame our president which is BS. Just like during hurricane Elena. People knew that it was heading their way and they knew that New Orleans was below sea level. I'm sorry but if I lived there, I would have walked out of there if thats what I had to do. No, it was easier to blame the president.
You can blame the ARM loans for some of the problems but in Florida the problem is the taxes and insurance. Look at the homestead exemption it's been the same for over 20 years. When homes cost $80k new a $25k break was great but when the average home cost in Palm Beach County is $300k that $25k doesn't mean a thing. Is that George W.'s fault no it's his brothers for no doing something and every has been hurting especially the months and years after back to back hurricanes. You also assume alot by thinking alot of people just bought the biggest house within or over their budget. People bought what they could find. I've owned my home for 3 years and it was the cheapest place within 40 miles of my job that wasn't located in the ghetto and still cost me $255k. Before you state that people should move to a cheaper area you first have to recognize that there aren't jobs in areas where it cost less to live. Some people have no choice but to buy was is available and renting is no cheaper in most cases unless you want to put your possessions and familys security at risk in a bad area.
Is Bush to blame for everything? No. People in NO knew the risks and were confident in their local government and it failed. That's a whole other mess. However the housing market, enconomy, gas prices, stock market is all a sign of how the country is running and with people talking about another depression it's obviously a poor reflection on how it's being run by Bush.

Here is a few links for you. The first one is fuel prices from 1993
http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/hist/mg_tt_usw.htm
Now the second is a good read. Lets think about it. The economy is doing much better now and we are making a heck of a lot more money with Bush in the office then when Clinton was in office. (Hasn't wages went up) I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth and everything I have, I worked hard for. Think about just ten or 15 years ago at how many on this forum couldn't buy a used quad, more less a new one to ride, and how many didn't have a computer to get online with. We couldn't afford it. Fuel prices may have gone up, there is nothing we can do about it except sit around and blame our president. Maybe we need to lower our standards of living some and then we can afford fuel. Here is a link.
http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=6440
Your a real Einstein. First off how many people work for less money each year, your wages should always be going up you idiot. You either get a raise or a cost of living increase or a promotion perhaps but it should always be going up.
As far as people having computers now and not 10-15yrs ago well no sh$t, prices on computers have dropped so much anyone can buy one now.
Do you have a clue what is going on in this country now? Housing market going bust, stock market is only ok at best and may be on the decline, fuel prices going thru the roof. And not to mention the war in Iraq. Who is at fault for this Clinton, no it's your beloved president. Why don't you do some homework and try to find out who helped Bush develop his energy policy and then come back on here and apologize to everyone for you being so clueless. Give me a break
You call me an idiot, Lets look at who the real idiot here. The housing market is going bust because interest rates were low and it would allow people to afford more home. But now that interest rates is on the rise they can no longer afford that same home. A lot of those loans were variable rate and people were overpaying what the market should have been. The real estate agents were raking in the cash but now that the rates are up, people can no longer afford those expensive homes. I do not think that our government should buy out all those people that went out and purchased homes that they could not afford anyhow. How many people do you hear that talk about buying property in Georgia and Alabama because land is cheaper there. All these gready people are doing is runing the true Florida natives from there own state. You home is your most important assett and when you purchase it you should account for fuel prices and food to increase and give yourself a little leave way in between. Our society has got to have the best homes and are so tied up with keeping up with our friends that we will stretch our budget to look like we keep up. My home is not the greatest and I don't own acres of property but it serves us well, we can afford it and we are HAPPY with it. Now I must ask, are you one of the idiots that are crying about not being able to afford you house payment now that fuel has went up a little?
Your right the housing market is screwed up and NO I don't think we should bail people out of there bad decisions but that is not the point. The point is that this country took several steps backwards in the last 6yrs of GW and it will take alot more than 6yrs to get out of this hole HE dug.
Where do you think all the money is coming from to finance his war in Iraq? Taxes? Nope, because GW does not believe in taxes but what he does believe in is borrowing money to finance his war. The money he is borrowing is not being paid by you or I but future generations will surely be paying like your grandchildren and their kids. Also all that money he borrows takes money away from the money supply, which in turn causes money to be more expensive to borrow (like higher interest rates) which in turn puts us where we are today.
You say we should not be bailing people out for there bad decisions and your right people should only spend what they can afford. Well why should our government be any different? Sure, wars can come up that were unexpected but does that mean we should lower taxes and have future generations footing the bill? Your beloved president is keeping taxes lower for his big money friends and businesses and he does not give a rubber nickel about you or me.
I surely don't like higher taxes but I also don't want to pass the buck (or in this case the bill $$$$$) to my daughter and her kids. It is time for you people (the republicans) to start paying as you go and stop your nonsense about lower taxes.
I am also still waiting on your answer about your presidents energy policy. What is it and who wrote it?

You state that I assume that people bought the biggest house for their budget. A lot of people did. If your job does not pay you anough to afford a $250,000 home then maybe you should find another job in another part of the state, take a pay cut and find a home a little less priced or find a job that allows you to pay for the house thats avaiable in your area. That would be like telling the government that you cannot afford a new truck and they should give you one because you need to go to work and you don't make enough money to afford it yourself. The real estate people and people selling property were taking advantage of the low interest rates available a few years ago and were bragging about how much they were making. Now they are crying because the housing market has took a dump. I said it then and I say it now. The market back then would come to a halt because people could not afford what they were paying for property and it has come to an end.
We all see what Bill Clinton did in the office. NOTHING. Has everyone forgot that he was IMPEACHED. Looks like he may get another chance though. Another 8 years of doing absolutely nothing again.

Hey Don't laugh. I have a Baccio 50cc scooter and I've been using it some lol. I'm 6'2" 250 pounds but considering it I can go around for 3 bucks vs 20 bucks I'll leave my Duramax parked. I think everybody should have a scooter in the family to just run errands and stuff on.
As for all the ranting about gas prices, Billary and mortgage rates the only thing to do is try to pay your bills on time and refi asap to an affordable rate. I've got an arm too that is going to adjust in January so I'm refi'ing now so I can lock in. It was fun while the rate was low.

You have absolutely no clue about how things work in the real world. Not everyone is happy working as a gas station clerk and happy to live in a 20 year old home in a small town. Some people actually get educations and/or work their asses off on a career that allows them the nicer things in life. That also means having to live near bigger cities where those jobs are located. Thus forcing people to live within reasonable distance of work and having to buy more expensive homes. Just because you choose to work for a dealership and live in the middle of nowhere, drive 10 year old vehicles don't expect others to live that life. Most people I know that are having problems affording things didn't buy a house out of their budget they bought well within their budget. Just like I said all these others factors are what screwed things up. I can afford my house and my truck is paid for in full. When I bought my place the payment was less than a 1/3 of my take home which is well within anyones budget. However TAXES and INSURANCE and now DIESEL the real problems in Florida, specificially south Florida has screwed up everyones budget. That is why there are a lot of people forclosing in Florida not just ARM loans, although they don't help.
Thank you for proving my point about Bush. You are right Clinton did nothing, he didn't start a war, fuel costs didn't fluctuate by 100% while he was in office, home owners insurance didn't triple after every strom came through...all he did was get a BJ. I'm not a Republican and I'm not a Democrate I just want to earn my way in life and enjoy what I have. I'll be damned if I'm going to give up 14 years job experience and my career to become the new greeter at Wal-mart near a town with a population of 1000 just because you think we should all just lie down and be happy with the idiot in office. Anyone with an IQ over that of an apple only has to listen to Bush for 5 minutes to figure out he's belongs in a special ed class.

LMFAO, at you, sounds like since gas prices went up you can't make you payments and want the government to make them for you. Thats no difference then being on welfare. You think I'm stupid. I must be pretty smart. I'm not complaining about gas prices here, You are. If I'm so stupid then why do I own (yes paid for in full) a 2001 Impala, 1997 Chevy extended cab 4X4, 2002 Tahoe ( that I purchased for my son, because I can afford it) and four ATV's, and still have money to drive them all left at the end of the month, sounds like I did something right. To top that off, I do own a pretty nice concrete block home with only a $75,000 mortgage. Not $250,000, because I did not want to stretch my budget in case fuel went up. Did I work for it or did my family give it to me. Well lets see, My parents have been gone for 15 years and with 8 children they did not have anything but an old house on two city lots. So nope, I earned it all myself by budgeting and staying within my means. Most everyone has hobbies, quads seem to be it on this forum. Just some of us may need to change our priorities and give up some hobbies to make ends meet. Because they didn't allow for things to change and prices to go up.

so let me get this straight. You bought everything you own on the assumption that gas prices would soar?
Also, Bush didnt bring 4 hurricanes in one month in 2004, he just happened to be president as well as on 911.
Think back, when did gas prices go through the roof. ANSWER: when 4 freaking hurricanes ripped thru the gulf & the main area of refineries in the USA, the gulf coast. Now the price went up & the oil companies played games to keep the price up there.
Yes I do say it is time for the govt to do something about fuel as it will drive everything else up as well, ie: food, clothing & materials to build with and so on & on.
Now back to the topic, GAS PRICES ARE FREAKING HIGH!!!!!

Not sure who the first comment is aimed at as I've never said I bought everything because gas prices would go up I bought everything I own because I could afford it.
Bush didn't bring the storms but it is his job to help keep things in line and he hasn't done that. He's allowed prices to go right through the roof and continue to climb at a ridiculous rate.

First I don't want the government to pay for anything of mine. I expect the government to do it's job and keep prices from getting out of hand. They allowed insurance companies to screw everyone and oil companies to do whatever they want. Second yes I'm complaining about price increases it sucks. Who the hell wants to willing give up more money and just sit around and say oh well that's life. You don't want to read it then leave but the whole point of the thread was about complaining about fuel. Third I owe $155k on my CBS house not $250k (actually $255k), that was what I paid for it, I own my 2008 F250 outright and have about 8 more months of payments on my Rhino and I did this all on a single income so please don't even try that crap with me. I know how to budget and keep within my limits. I'm not on the verge of loosing anything I'm complaining because it sucks that I can now only afford to go riding every other weekend instead of every weekend and some people are in much, much worse condition than that. If I was in that bad of shape I would sell things and re-adjust to what I can afford. What I am is annoyed at losing the extra money that used to go towards toys because the current government is doing a piss poor job on things.

so let me get this straight.

That 1st part was for Yunt. The rest was for the Bush-bashers.

I have been wanting to take my son to the motoplex since it opened, but 2 tanks of fuel will cost me $170 right now & that is hard to justify before Christmas. My wife & I both work & have made our way with no help at all or even a cosigner in our lives. I dont care who you are or what you make if you have any way in your mind to justify the cost of fuel right now then you need serious help!!! I voted for Bush 2x & I aint a happy camper right now either.
FYI, diesel fuel in Brazil is going for around .23 cents a gallon. I talked to a fishing captain & he was filling up a hatteras down there a while back & that is what they paid.
We are getting fu**ed hard by fuel prices PERIOD!!!!!

No it was a buy here pay here live here deal.
Now, has gas prices went up, yes it has. Everyone seems to be ready to blame our government for every little thing that happens in these states. Everyone seems to think that they cannot make ends meet and that the economy will stop if something doesn't happen. Here is my point, It won't, we may just have to re-adjust our priorities but things will go on just fine. Everyone seems to forget what has been thrown on Bush's agenda since he has been in office. I don't believe many presidents had to adjust like he has. people are quick to complain about the bad but are slow to recognize that they can change some things around and take some responsibility also. Did I buy a home thinking the gas prices would go up. No, But I did buy one knowing that they could go up.

The Datsun rocks! It runs a 18.74 at 68 mph on nothing but a 90hp dry shot of spray and can pull a trailer better than any cummins or powerstroke. But the trike is better in the mud any day.

Bush isn't the cause for the increase but as our LEADER he is reponsible for doing something about it and he won't because it's not in HIS best interests. Fuel costs went up about a $1/gallon after the major storms hit the gulf and stayed there. Since then with no storms they have gone up another $1/gallon. In just over 3 years that's a 100% increase in cost and you say we all have to adjust to that and most have. Obviously you think that Bush doesn't need to do anything about it because it's not his fault so let say that trend continues. In another 3 years you'll be paying $7/gallon I suppose that's okay and no one is to blame. If you think that wouldn't cause major problems in the US you are in denial. Just look at the cost of groceries from a few years ago to today and you see the affects of those increases. Inflation is one thing, but the rate at which fuel costs are going up it affects everything.
