I bought a used 04ram1500 had 18,000 miles now has 40,000+, The truck's horn will beep every few minutes, this is with the key out of ignition. I had to disconnect the battery so it would stop. Anyone have a clue what the problem could be? Thanks

my first thought,,,it's a dodge ;-)

second thought, maybe the horn relay,,,,,yank it from the fuse panel and replace it.

sounds like an aftermarket alarm malfunctioning.

also check to see that there isnt a spare set of keys in the truck. if it has an rf remote for an aftermarket alarm there is a chance it is letting you know you left the keys in the vehicle.

Its a stock horn with no alarm, only keyless entry. I already took the batteries out of the remotes, still the horn beeps by itself every few minutes. I have a good warrenty so i might just take it in. Thanks.

trade it in for something better.  Wink

one of my friends has a dodge car of some sort and his did the same thing. except it stayed on for long periods of time. he just disconnected the fuse so his horn dont work now. the only problem with that is if you get checked for it by the popo.

Dodges are notorious for horns blowing for no reason, turning the wheel sitting still ect.  The Connectors in the steering wheel and ignition system are prob. shot.
