On my way back from Pensacola, I stopped at Tate's Hell.  It is on Hwy 67, north of Carabelle.  It has been open for about 1 year, it is State run, you need the $50.00 permit, but if you have one for Croom, it is good here.  It is a series of old logging roads (150 mile) that are now trails.  If you want a wilderness area, this is it.

If anyone has ridden here, please let us know what you think.

2 nights ago there was a documentary on that area including Tates Hell on the USF channel 16. The place was long ago so soaked up with water that the ground was like a sponge according to the program. Not anymore though.

I have heard that there was a lot of wet areas. Seeing as we have had a dry season, that should not be the case.
