There was A TON  of people at Croom today.  WoW!  I've never seen it so busy.  Which was a good thing because there were plenty of nice dude's to help me push my warrior back to the truck when the starter tanked.  Cry

yeah i was out there today and there were people everywhere!  i took a ride to the pit and there were people going every which way so I didn't bother riding in the pit much.  I just had fun on the GNCC trail

It was a little scarry with my 9 yr old out running the trails with me.  The kids area where we normally ride has been demolished.  the fence and everything is gone and adults are riding in there now too.  Does anyone know if there is or will be another kids area?  That was the only safe haven for my boy.  Him and I both almost got creamed a couple of times today.   nobody's fault, just going around blind corners with oncoming riders going fast. Shocked

I'm pretty handy with electrical stuff and usually just rebuild my automobile starters.   So I pulled the starter apart tonight and wow!  The armature looks like it could have been used as a greade.  There is nothing left of it.  Also, the oil seals failed at the starter shaft so the enire starter was full of crank case oil.    So, I have to get a whole new one.  I'm going to call INSANE OFF ROAD first.  They are a great local shop in Port Richey.  But if they can't get me a remanufactured starter, I can get one on ebay for 64.95  + 15 for shipping.  I'm not too keen on internet or ebay purchases so hopefully insane will come through for me.  they always have in the past.  I know the brand new starters are over 200 bucks.   While I'm at it, I'm going to replace the primary gear for the starter that way it is a total "fresh start"   so to speak.  Tongue

really?   I thought I was the only one with special luck like that.  Seems like lately every time we load up and go riding,  we are coming home with something broken. Cry  Of course all mine are late 80's early 90's.  But you would think as much $ as I have thrown at em, they would treat me better Cry  That doesn't seem to work with women either Cry

It conked out in the bottom of a bowl I was riding in which was sugar sand.  I don't think push starting it was an option.  However,  when I got it up on the road I should have tried---duh.  But how would you push start a quad even on level ground?   I guess I'm a newbee.   Besides my truck was only a hundred or so yards away after I got it out of the bowl.  Huh

Turn the key on, second or third gear, hold the clutch in, Push the quad, Pop the clutch. Or get someone to pull you.

anyone ridethe new trail for GNCC/Enduro type races?  It goes from the pit to the back where the kids section was.  Most fun I have ever had, the trail you could race 2 wide in areas and it was perfect.  Easy to average 50MPH on my 400ex on it.  It was so fun I rode from the pit to the back 5 times in a row haha

first, get someone to push it or push it with another quad. have the key on, put it in second gear, hold the clutch in, and when it gets goin pretty good, pop the clutch. my cousins blasters kick starter is broke so he just rolls it down a hill and does it. but if you dont have a hill, just find some way to get it to roll. push, or pull with a quad, or have one or 2 people push it. ive always heard that youre supposed to stand up and when you pop the clutch, drop onto the seat at the same time you pop it. i dont know if you have to though. i always do. hope this helps.
