is this legal as long as it only has a 4 round clip? if there are any game wardens o somebody that know that'd be really appreciated. i know if someone saw me they would probably come to see what size mag i had in it but ive never seen a warden so im not too worried about being disturbed. this would just save the trouble of buying a hunting rifle too.

I have used an SKS for hunting in the swamp and places where I don't want to take my 30-06. The SKS has a poly stock and an internal 5 mag to make it legal. Here in Florida where the deer are small compared to their Northern brothers the performance of the 7.62 x 39 is more than adequate. Make sure you wear your PASGT helmet and flack jacket and no one will screw with you.

LOL!

i was thinkin about a .308 one but i will consider any really. a .223 will take down any deer in florida especially with the tight places to hunt. no wide open spaces really. me and my dad are still lookin around though.

I only use .223's when the cops come banging on my door, and on my powerheads when spearfishing for stuff bigger than me in water over 120ft deep. You can take these little Florida deer down with a wrist rocket. My buddy uses a sling.

I have used my Valmet M-76 with a collapsible stock and a 5 round clip. The performance of a 7.62x39 is about the same as a 30-30. I'm  not sure if a .223 is legal or not? You are not supposed to hunt Deer or Hogs with a .22 caliber, technically a .223 is a .22 caliber. Maybe someone else can chime in on this......

Sorry Guys NO deer hunting with a 223, min is a 243 and no rimfire rounds also. But you can use a rimfire (22s or 17HMR) on hogs.

I have read all of this before. But from reading this, you are allowed to have over 5 shells in either a lever action rifle, bolt action rifle, or a shotgun right? as the mag round of 5 is for semi-auto rifles right?

Only non semis I have are a bolt action 30-06 and a double barrel 12 gauge, so I never looked into it.  It does imply the 30-06 could have a 10 or 20 without troubles, but who needs more than one anyway.

I have an M-1 carbine that is real light and fun to plink varmints with, but I have never seen a five round magazine for it. I doubt you could find one for an M-4 or any proper non full metal jacket 5.56×45 mm rounds for that matter without wasting a bunch of money. It's not like you are going to war with the bucks. Wink

What could be more fun than to use a hand gun to hunt something that stands 6 1/2 feet high at the shoulder and may weigh up to 1600 pounds. The Freedom Arms .454 Casull that many use to hunt moose with would be my choice. A single well placed 300 grain bullet from this gun is more than enough to bring one of these beasts down. Wink

You need to make a picture like that at dusk with the sunset in the background. That would be sweet with that cannon.
