Was out to Rodman yesterday and We noticed that we will be unable to take the "wet trail", that was the begining of the trail ride that made quite a few people turn around because they made that area a conservation area .

Dont you worry if I get stuck I can get myself out. I remember quite a few times having to pull my buddies Honda out. If you do not get stuck that means you are not trying the deep stuff. It seems each time I pulled my buddies Honda out it was because his wife was riding it and she aint scared to try the deep stuff. I guess his wife has got more kahonas than he does!

this is not good. that leaves just 1 trail into the main part of the forest to my knowlege. they are slowly tightening the nuese on us. but we wont have that water issue again, at least at the start. where did they put the barrier and did you attemt to ride out onto the forest on the other trail?

Jeff,
You can always take the trail that the group with Naples Raptor( the group that turned around last time) took before we all met back up...but it's really whooped out. Just a side note, I wonder how many are taking the 88 ride and how many are staying around the pit this time. That may help you plan your route.

Yeah I know that it isn't good, That area that they have blocked off had just as much water there if not more this time, They blocked it off about 50ft from the water with one of there 4x4 wood markers. The other trail is still fine that leads out towards the 88 store direction

right gregg, i think its the only way out across fr77 now. once we get across fr77 (forest road 77) our options open up. im thinking of jumping off that trail at some point to avoid the whoops.

When you get close to ONF, just pull the side of the rode shut your truck off and listen for the sound of about 200 quads and fellow your ears. JK
I dont know the way from Tampa, pretty sure someone can tell how to get there though.

Take 75 to hwy 200 and head N.E on that, You'll go over a bridge and look for MLK blvd. Take a left and go a bout 1-2 blocks and take a right on hwy 40. Follow that several miles to hwy 314. Take a left and stay on that about 25 miles, It dead ends into cr 19. Take a left on CR 19 and follow that about 13-14 miles til you come to a humongous bridge, (cross Florida barge canal)take a left before you go over the bridge and take that til it dead ends. Thats Rodman Dam.

Regarding those coming from Tampa. I live in Ocala, and I advise you to get off at RT 40, not 200. Go east completely through Ocala and past Silver Springs. Then you will cross a very large bridge that looks out of place. At the next light go left on 314. Take it to the end and you will be at RT 19. Go left and at the big shipping center on the left is the Elite Resprt. If you continue north on 19 about 10 miles you will come to Rodman Dam on your left.

Yeah, Either way will work. I've been there at least 20 times last year and It's quicker and shorter taking 200 but it's probably easier (turns wise) to take the 40 exit.
