i got a friend that just ran his quad with no oil in it.  stupid move and didnt do it on purpose.  my question is now that the bike wont run any more what are the most likely damaged parts to the engine?  im hoping to dig into the engine today im just curious how deep in need to get into this fix?  im hoping a new piston kit will be enough.  has anyone made the same mistake and how much damage was caused?

I worked w/ a guy that had a little toyata car still under warranty that was giving him problems, so he drained all the oil saved it, ran it to burn it up, he said it took him 1/2 a day for it to burn up, then he put that oil back in it & took it to the dealer,

How long did it take that motor to burn up on you w/ no oil in it ?

my bro did that with his 400.  I think he had to replace the head, piston, etc.  Big money when you do that.
