Ford Motor Co. supplanted Toyota as leader of the pack in J.D. Power and Associates’ annual quality rankings released Wednesday, grabbing more individual awards than any other automaker .
Ford ranked highest in five of 19 segments in this year’s survey.
Awards were given for the Ford Mustang, Lincoln Mark LT, Lincoln MKZ, Mercury Milan and Mazda MX-5 Miata. Mazda is 33.4 percent owned by Ford.
Toyota had seen its list of quality leaders decrease year after year . South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co outperformed Toyota for the first time ever.
Toyota executives have been speaking publicly about their concerns about maintaining its historically high quality .

every manufacture has its ups and downs when it comes to a particular model. Speaking from my years with FORD I have see the good and bad of the product line. most of all disapointing was the rise and fall of the Powerstroke. Lets not forget the wonder focus also. I am certain other manufacture have their fair share of problems also. With Me now working for VW I have seen a consistant repair process occur with several of these vehicle aswell. thing is with the VDub the $$$$ is higher

I agree withg Chuck. VW after 1999 are bad in my opinion as far as getting parts.

I was a Ford man for year's, the only problem's I had was w/ there auto. tranny's.
My '90 full size Bronco (351W,E4OD) is on it's 3rd tranny now(cost about 1800.00 to rebuild)
The last guy that rebuilt it (Transmission Physician/Tampa) seemed to do the proper up grades & is holding up the best now.
I bought a '02 Chevy Express van for work& it's never been to the shop w/ 150,000 miles on it !
Also a '05 Silverado 2500 Crew Cab 4x4(6.0 gas) at 50,000 & never been to the shop.
I know some mechanics that will work on anything but a Ford.
I'm a chevy man now, but that's prob. cause of the 3 tranny's I put in my Bronco.
p.s. I'll trade that Bronco for a 4x4 utility quad, then I can go ride w/ JackL.

I thought it was more like parts shipped over from Japan & assembled completely in america. I wonder how many ford & chevy plants are in Japan.

It may be assembled in the USA, but all the profit goes back to Japan.

Sucks to be them. I can deal with an issue here or there or even head gasksets like I had to deal with on my 6.0 but engine failure is something all together different.

as my F250 has the cab off and engine out for a complete replacement, lol.
they all have their own problems. I am not a ford, chevy, or dodge fan. I am whatever suits my needs/budget at the time fan. right now I need a diesel that tows a lot of weight and the ford fit the bill. ford is replacing the engine under warranty so It does not bother me one bit. I am impressed with their service.

but U.S. citizens get paid by Toyota to work in the U.S. factories. ford, chevy and dodge are soon gonna be payin little mexicans to build their trucks and cars. yes, the profit is gonna be sent back to here but for who? the big shot ford guys that are already filthy rich. they arent givin it to citizines like us. i guarantee you in the next 2-5 years toyota will have more employees in America than the big 3 domestics combined. the big 3 jap companies probably already have more than the top 3 domestics. itll be interresting to see what kind of quality ford has when built for $2.00 a hour.

I never cared for Ford. They always seemed to fall apart on me. I have a Tahoe that already with 147,000 miles has had two tranny rebuilds.
The second one was reinforced. It also rides bumpy as hell and struggles when I tow with it.
I might be trying one of those Toyota's real soon if I can sell my truck.
