We have been told the Ocala now has camping with electric and water and you are able to ride directly off the campsite.  Has anyone  been camping there in the past few months?  We usually camp at croom and ride there.  Thanks.

No power, Gen sets off at 10pm, Yes water, and Yes riding out of camp.
Bring a long hose and a Y connector.
This is often asked. Do a search for ONF and you'll get lots of info.

Never camped at Ocala but parked at the campsite. From what I have seen Croom does have a nicer campsite as far as shady areas to camp which Big Scrub doesn't. When it comes to riding though it's hard to beat the variety and the size of riding areas available in Ocala Grin

I have been to both Ocala and Croom. I enjoy them both but when it comes to an overall pick I would have to say Ocala takes the honors. The trails do not seem as crowded and the price to ride is alot more inviting.

Croom has a great campground that you can ride in and out of.. HOT showers -  bathrooms... But like it was said above can get alittle crowded on the weekends.....LOTS of whooped out trails but still a great place to camp and ride.. And is within 30 mins of my house...

Ocala has much smoother trails long and staight,,,+plus much more riding area.... I have not found a campsite with the amenitys(sp?) that croom have yet... +you "need" a gps for ocala...

they are both great places to ride.. But it depends on what you have and what you want to do... IMO.....

   Hey Everyone,
Big Scrub isn't the only campground friendly to ATV's in Ocala. Coming in from the south side keep going east on 42 past 588 a few more miles on the left is a nice campground with all amenities including a pool for about 4 bucks a day and you can even get an RV trailer to stay overnight. And yes Ocala is far better than  "waiting-for-an-accident-to-happen" Croom! After you have been to Croom a few times you will start to feel like you are riding in circles, Ocala is over 80,000 acres so take plenty of fuel.

     Chris,
A friend who has stayed at Big Scrub many times told me about this other campground. I haven't been there myself but I was told to take 42 East like you are going to 588 but continue a few more miles past 588 and the place is on the left. I don't know the name, maybe someone else can post more info.
