Visit this link below. Very helpful and useful in formation. This is serious stuff that the state is trying to do but will affect us all at the cost of our lives and property. Cutting emergency services, fire and police personel and shutting down stations. Not good for anyone. Please Read.

Please make this  a sticky if it can be.

Thanks

If this bill passes, there will be more issues than people realize.  Just think about all of the jobs that will be lost.  I for one will be without a job.  We will loose 45 positions.  Florida will become a haven for criminals without the law enforcement that is necessary.  The list goes on and on.  Think about all of the housing foreclosures due to no work in the public sector.
This Bill is BULLSH!T.  All this to save 300 a year on my taxes!  It is the same people that come down for 3 months a year and shut down our riding areas that are trying to pass this bill!

i can only hope they get rid of prop taxes.i pay over 8 grand a year.and my service for police sucks anyway.and if you believe they cant keep going with a reduction your crazy.i watched palm beach county turn ever bit of vacant lade to House and strip plazas. so many homes it ain't funny. with the increase in prop taxes in the last few years and the new homes they should have alot of money laying around.so i dont see what the county's and city's are whining about.thay have had a blast with all that money the last few years.also they were just fine a few years ago with the money they were getting then . i think now there just used to have all this money just lying around to do whaterver with . they  build a library or plant some trees by the road to act like there spending it on stuff for us and now there saying if they lose some of that money the world is gonna end.i dont by it.there just scum bags that want all the money they can get.just like the oil company's.3.50$ a gallon and everything is fine no hurricane or pipeline problems, after hurricane Katrina hit all the oil refineries  were damaged  was the reason for high gas prices then.now there just being greedy and thats it.so i for one am for a big property tax reduction.and if i have live with a library only being open a few days a week or less plants alongside the road .that fine with me.

well said.there is many points regarding this issue but it comes down to better fiscal responsibility. Maybe some of the over paid city officials should consider a pay cut to make up the difference.

They definitely need to do something about the taxes it is getting ridiculous, more people now seem to be trying to leave the state than move here because of ins. and taxes. We have over 15,000 homes in inventory right now and over 9,000 condos for sale in lee county alone that is just from the multiple listing service, the developers are not even included in that number and homes for sale seem to be on the rise. My point is if they don't do something about taxes there won't be anyone here to pay them or more importantly afford to pay them.

And if there's no one here to pay them there will be no one here to complain about our atv's.  Hmmm?  Ok, sorry for hijacking.  I'm out.

Ya, that might work. I said before & I know a lot of people disagree but I wish we'd get hit w/ a hard cat.5 Hurricane, maybe some of these people will leave, & then maybe we'll be left alone. I even live on the water(Upper Tampa bay) & hope it happen's,I got everything recorded/documented & insured, just waiting. Maybe I'm wrong.

Correct again Mr. Norris, it all boil's down to fiscal responsibilty and that goe's for the U.S. Congress as well. The income the city's and county's have been receiving the past several year's from property taxe's have been in excess of what was required to run their respective county or municipal government's and they have just gotten used to having money to blow on whatever. So dont give me this crap that they wont be able to afford critical service's etc... they just need to responsible like any common household. However I do like Qts way of thinkin Wink
