Did my first trip to ONF this weekend.  My daughter and I stayed at Big Scrub and rode out from there.  Met a lot of nice people and covered nearly 70 miles while we were there.  I found that once you get a couple miles from camp, you can find some very smooth, seriously fast trails.  Heck, some of them had weird speed limit signs on them, like 588 and 546, or something like that.     We had a great time and there really are some very smooth trails out there.  You just have to go looking for them.  Very glad I brought the GPS with me.  It would have been real easy to get lost.

Ummmm, those aren't speed limit signs. They are the toll amount signs. I hope you paid, or you will be getting a ticket in the mail.

Did you have to have the new registration stickers? I have all the titles & cert. of origins on all my quads, but I have never bought these stickers.

When I arrived, one of the hosts went and checked the quads, got the tag numbers off the trailer and motorhome while the other filled out the check-in paperwork.  When asked about the quads, he said everything was okay.  Since we have the stickers and spark arrestors, I guess that would mean a yes.  Despite all the talk about rigid enforcement of the rules, I never saw any of the rangers (and there were plenty out there, in the campground and out on the roads - even saw one out on the trail we were riding) pull anybody over.  One of the campground hosts warned one family about their kids riding around the campsites on their quads but that was it.  I did see too many people without helmets on riding way too fast along the powerlines .  I guess that's one part of this sport that will never change.  The only complaint I have about the place is that I had to drive 293 miles, door-to-door, to enjoy it.  WE NEED MORE PLACES TO RIDE DOWN SOUTH!!!!!

You aren't kidding about more places down south, but unless we have a major depression, 1930's style everything will be built out in the next ten years.
