Keeping riding spots open

My family and I went to Big Scrubb this week to do some camping and riding. We arrived, set up camp and rode for a few hours. Later that evening 8:50 pm to be exact we noticed a large group of people arriving (gate closes at 9:00pm and quiet hours are from 10:00pm-7:00 am). After coming in late and one person even ran into one of the picnic tables and bent it, they proceeded to set up camp for themselves...all 25-30 of them. This group of people were partying..yelling and cursing at their children and even walking into the woods next to the campground and were using a chain saw at 1:00 am to cut down firewood to start their fire. This went on until around 3:00am. And to my surprise...this group were the first to get up at 6:55 am and start all over again. I talked to many of the other campers and they were very angry...not many us of got any sleep that night and the person in charge of the camp ground never even approached them about the noise. Now I understand that one person against 25-30 people might feel a little intimidated (sp) and thats why no one in the camp ground wanted to approach this group. Needless to say...myself and a few other campers cut their week short because we did not want to deal with this B.S. for another night. And to add insult to injury...while I was cleaning up my campsite..one of the people in this group approached me so they could get my unused firewood that I brought to the camp from the outside. Also he had the BALLS to let me know that he was one of the organizers of the ATV Ralley in Lakeland on May 19 and that we should attend to help save our florida riding spots. If this guy really wants to save our riding spots in Florida...he and his group of "friends" should find another sport to trash.
If this person reads this post I just want them to know that they are the reason many of our riding spots are being closed and his group ruined a great family trip for me and many other groups out there...

What was his name, what did he look like and what was he driving?
? Nice of you to join and have your very first post a positive one. I said a while back the more publicity we get and exposure you will see a lot of people try to question our credibility. For some odd reason I question yours.

I'm sorry my first post was a negative one. It bothers me that everyone is quick to judge the credibility of my post. I hope someone who was out there the night of 4/5 would read this and post. I have been riding at Big Scrubb for years and never experienced this type of behavior. Next time I will ask permission to post something negative..or I will only post positive stuff. I never asked this person his name and I am only telling you what he told me. Again, sorry if I stepped on anyones toes but I was very upset about what happened.

I'd believe him, why would he waste his time registering and writing that whole story. Instead of saying hes a liar why not try and see if one of the members on this website was THAT person.

Being that you are a new member, I will inform you that we get a lot of bogus members on here trying to discredit our respectability. If this really happenned to you, then I hope you don't think of one incident as being the behaviour of everyone...that would be wrong.
For future referance, to make your point more feasable and for anyone to understand who was involved, get the person's name and screen name. This way we can post it and let it be known.Of course we can't demand anyone to behave the way we would like, but at least you know who to hold responsible. When you say,"Someone on this site and that their one of the organizers," it just leaves to broad of an idea.It might begin the questioning of any member...and you don't want it to look like your accusing someone who's not responsible.
Welcome to the site.If you've been riding for years,I don't know how you've never heard of this site before.Glad you joined.Show up at the Rally and introduce yourself. We aquaint ourselves with as many members as we can.

I was at Big Scrub thurs and friday night. Both nights I slept on the back of my truck, right down from the bathrooms. The only thing you left out is the train horns at the crack of dawn to get everyone into formation that morning
The night after that everything was pretty quiet except we ran the chainsaw 2 times real quick after the shutdown time thinking it probably wasn't a really big deal after all the commotion the night before, and we get our asses chewed out by the ranger and accused of running the machines around camp after dark. Nothing had been touched since everyone came in from the last ride, and I hadn't seen anyone else running around camp after dark either. Who knows.
