Does croom take reservations for campsites?

If not is it pretty full around this time of year on the weekends? Say if you show up on friday afternoon, do you think getting a campsite is possible?

Also all that is needed for us first timers is a helmet and $50.00 per atv and title or bill of sale?

No special rules for the kids, I.E. age versus c.c. ?

Do you people complain about the newbies buying chinese pieces? The wife and i could'nt see spending $20,000.00 on 4 - 4 wheelers and not sure if the kids would like it, so we got 4 chinese deals for now........Hope this was'nt a $4000.00 dollar mistake... Huh

Thanks for any and all info, the kids are looking forward to trying out their new toys.

Hi, I went to Croom for the first time last weekend. They don't take resevations. But you can get a site at Silver lake. It's very nice they have hot showers water and power at the camp sites. It's about 4 mile away from croom.
I have been looking into the chineese bikes for my son. I have read good and bad thing about them. And basicaly they are a good deal if you just want ride not race. They are not built as durable as the japaneese bikes. And you have to be willing to do your own repairs. basically tightining loose bolts and just general maintanence. Good luck. what quads did you go with?

First of all welcome to our site.

As mentioned croom does not take reservations.  Unfortunately this is the only close place to ride so it does fill up quickly.  Lake Delancy in Ocala usually has spaces open but they do not have water or electric.  I think that Delancy has better riding than Croom.

We have a BIG RALLY that I would like to personally invite you to and hope that you consider attending.  We are rallying for our rights.  We want safe/legal places to ride.  You will find info listed under the rally threads.

I had a chinese bike for my daughter, it was fine.  Just keep up on the tightening of the bolts and screws.

I wanted to add a comment about the Chinese bike thingy. Personally I think you did a smart thing. 1. because it's a new hobby/sport and not sure if its wort investing some much money. 2. this is an expensive hobby/ sport. 3. Don't worry what others think about your choice in buying you did what was right for you and your family. Just have fun thats what riding is all about. And if you have the whole family involved that is even better. Wink

If you got four quads for $4000, I think you did great! I suppose you will need to turn wrenches on them eventually, but that is half the fun....right? Smiley

Croom riding stickers are good from July to July. If you go this weekend, you will likely pay about $30 per pass. They pro rate them as the year goes by.

Thanks to all, good info is hard to come by.

I bought the panther quads, they are all made by the same company from what i gather, just labeled all different names. If you are still in market the guy i got mine from is a really good guy to deal with, as i said i actually got 5 of them, 3- 110cc raptor style big ones, 1 110cc mid size for the 5 yr old nephew and 1 200cc manual shift for myself, 5 helmets also...for $4400.00, so if they last a year i figure good nuff...

As for the rally deal i don't have a clue what this consist of but would like to find out, that is if everyone there does'nt get tired of my kids pokey style of riding for now (first time they ever sat on one of the things, but they are catching on pretty quick, they killed my yard today for 3 hours)

where is this rally deal anyways?

Thanks again.....Probird

Welcome to the site and welcome to the sport! To find out about the rally go back to the main forum page and look for the heading Florida ATV Rally right above Classifieds. Or you could check out BayNews9 at 5 pm tomorrow. Again, welcome aboard
