ERIC MEDLEN KILLED THE DAY AFTER GATORS IN A TOP FUEL FUNNY CAR CRASH

I have been a drag racer for many years and know many people in the sport .I recieved some sad news about Eric Medlen (driver for Jhon forces team) he had a bad crash during some test and tune runs on monday after the gators .It is being reported still that he was injured but I have confirming info that he has passed away from his injuries.Please pray for his family ,he has been an asset to the sport for many years he worked with Keith Black and many others.He will be missed.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - NHRA driver Eric Medlen was critically injured Monday in an accident at Gainesville Raceway, his team said.

Medlen, who drives for John Force Racing, was injured when his Funny Car crashed into the right guard rail during a test session. The 33-year-old was transported by helicopter to the University of Florida medical center, where he was being treated in the intensive care unit, the team said on its web site.

His injuries were not disclosed.

That is horrible. My prayers are with the family. There was a ton of crashes/wall hits there this weekend.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Injured NHRA Funny Car driver Eric Medlen survived a delicate, three-hour craniotomy procedure to relive pressure and hemorrhaging Tuesday evening but remained in critical condition Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida medical center.

Over the next two weeks, the 33-year-old will remain in a drug-induced coma designed to promote healing.

“We consider ourselves fortunate that Eric is in one of the top hospitals in the world for this type of injury and is getting absolutely the best treatment possible,” said John Medlen, Eric’s father and crew chief.

“We want to thank Eric’s friends, fans, sponsors and the entire NHRA drag racing community for their support in this very difficult time for our family,” he said. “We would ask that they continue to remember Eric in their prayers. He’s a fighter, but he has a long battle ahead of him.”

The elder Medlen also asked, for Eric’s sake and the sake of the family, that fans refrain from speculation, especially on the internet, where erroneous information already has been a source of considerable anguish. **

Ahhhh...INCORRECT! As GrlNextDoor  posted...& According to nhra.com....Eric Medlin had a craniotomy and is alive but in critical condition.

I may have been givin bad info only time will tell for sure but regardless please pray for his family and his recovery if indeed he has servived this terrible accident.
