29.5 swamplights

Im debating.Bugs or lights.I ride alot of rocky stuf and hills and trails so I dont want an allout mud tire.But Im leaning toward the mudlites because the bugs might be to aggressive.Hey southern you have mudlites right?How do they do in the hump?

How do you think the 589s will do in the mud?Also how about in the hills and rocks out there in the hump.I thougt they were an all out mud tire but will consider them

no 589's arnt a full out mud tire thats waht i run on my rubicon and they do good

Ive had 589's and mudlites.the mud lights ride way smoother and pull just as good in the mud if not better.had both of them on my ranger and 300.have yet to get stuck with mudlights but i put the 589's back on and get stuck in the same mud hole i can make it through no problem with the mudlights.

Don't get me wrong i like the 589's.I guess i do more trail riding then mudding.mudlights ride way smoother and go through mud just as good imo.

I have a 2 sets of 27" for the ranger.one set mudlights and the other 589's.mudlights flote it but the the 589's go straight to the bottom.Plus they bog it down a lot more.

Look, dont be fooled by allot of people on this site. Everyone seems to agree that mudlights suck. They dont. I have a set on mine that I have put through every situation and every terrian execept for snow. They are a good tire. They dont rob power like heaiver tires and they pull pretty good in the mud. The only problem there is is that they are not a full on mud tire. There are plent of better mud tires but few better that will do everything good like the mudlight can. For example an outlaw or vampire will do good in mud but it woudnt be a very good choice for everyday trail riding and stuff like that. The mudlight will do good in the mud and still be great for trails and rocks and whatever else you encounter on the trail. Im getting mudbugs for mine only because I ride allot more mud and I need a more agressive tire then the lights. There probably one of the best do it all tires in my oppinon. Espically considering your getting 27s, the 589's are allot heavier and wont ride as good.

IMO my bi/tri's have done perfect in all the mud I have thrown at them. I have seen vamps in action...good tire but I think the bi/tri's overall outmudded them. As for swamplites all I know is they wear fast, clog up but other than that hang with the mud bugs in the mud.

Iev seen 589's in mud plenty of times and I'm not really impresed.Their heavy and seem to clog up bad.And as far as I no the vamps have a pretty smooth ride.Another GREAT all around tire is the outlaws MST.

the only thing i dont like about mud lites is they clog up WAY to fast,good smooth light weight tire but they do clog up way to fast.if your doing more mudding then anything go with vamps or outlaws,but for more trail riding, id say 589s or mudlights.never used tri/bi claws so i cant comment on them.

thanks i know alot about outlaws and what not i plan on runing 29.5 outlaws down the road but right now my bike is stock and i wont be abel to turn the 29.5 outlaws

right now im looking at some 28" EDL's


i was going for the mudbitchs but they havent came out with the 28s yet

You do realize 28" EDL's are one of the heaviest(if not THE) atv tires out there, dont you? They actually have a disclaimer on Interco's website that says something about not running it on stock bikes. They weigh like 28lbs or 32 lbs EACH. Thats alot of f-ing tire for an atv. Traction also will hurt you. As much as you want traction, that is the main cause of fried trannys and broken axles. You have the traction but dont have the power to break it and spin.

I'd go with something a bit lighter if you can.

I have Mudlights. They work pretty damn good for what they are...a light duty mud tire. Besides sucking in reverse, I like them. However, I am 2wd with just 26"s so thats probably why. I bought them because they are the lightest mud tire produced and it defanatley shows. They are good tires with good milage and perform good in all terrains.

If you want to go mudbogging then buy a hardcore mud tire(i.e. Mudzillas or Outlaws). If you want to go trail riding them but a good trail tire(i.e. Mudlights). But dont buy Mudlights and take them through 29.5" Mudzilla ruts and then complain about them sucking because that just makes an opinion pointless.

Mudlites are good for small bikes or people  who dont mud allot but they wont hang with the big boys .And I bet edls are THE heaviest tire out their next to the new mud bitches

Well I know this discussion is about tires but anthother thing when your considering what else matters besides tires. I would pick a guy with mudlites that knows what hes doing over someone with no clue and laws. If you know what your doing, have enough ground clearange and enough power to turn your tires, the tire itself is not that big of deal. Anyway it was just a thought.

i put 29.5 laws on my rubicon today and what a beast it is lol they are my friends tho i only used them to try them out

i can turn them in low gear (low and in 1st gear) but not fast   when i got stuck in thick mud  i didnt even try and spin them just got pulled out but i can usre go alot more places then befor but not as fast and its alot harder on the bike

once i get a pipe,clutch kit and a jet kit im pirtty sure i can turn them  but will run 28's and once i get a bbk(once my rings go out and i get the $.it will be a 550 then ) ill run 29.5 for sure

The original ones were over 40lbs each from what some of the guys over on highlifter posted. They also ride absolutely horrible on hard pack and if you don't know how to drive with them you will not be happy with them. In short they just dig straight down to the bottom. If you ride in bottomless mud they are useless, if you ride in mud with a hard bottom they will find it.

29.5 Outlaws are the best for all out mud they make easy work where most tires (589's, mudbugs, mudlights, bi/tri-claws) struggle or require 4wd to get through. However if you don't have the power to turn them in really thick mud then it sucks having to be pulled out all the time.
