 How about "Circle of whoops"
I am so excited about the new system, I can ride the yellow trail of whoops or the blue trail of whoops or the red trail of whoops. All of these new trails of neverending whoops lead to absolutely nothing. I really used to enjoy riding the forest, so much so, that I bought a second home with trail access. All of the cool places that we used to ride to are now blocked off. I dont even think that I will bring the bikes up here any more. It is really depressing. I have met a lot of great people and had a lot of fun on the group rides that we used to have in the forest. Those days are gone Sad. I think its time to go shopping for an airplane and fly the F out of this state.

Thought about an airboat too. I left my boat up here most of last summer and used it quite a bit on the river and trips to the springs. The riding has gone to crap, at least I have other places to ride.

6 months ago when I bought that old trailer up there you could ride where ever you want. Now your stuck on the whooped out trails which are limited and dangerous due to head on collisions. How did the trail system make my riding experience better? I say we band together and stick it back to the man.

Well guys I have actually seen the trail groomer it came in a couple of days ago. The forest service is traing people to use it and should start grooming in a couple of days. They will be grooming the Winding wiregrass trail first in the south end of the forest then they will move to the north end.

I saw him also. An old man on a small boxblade with a woman in front on an atv yelling tractor ahead as you passed. I don't understand the wait you can't tell me they don't have an old D4 or D3 or the like somewhere I think that would work the best. And it is in thier arsenal so they could take the saved money and construct a pavillion for get togethers.

yes, a pavilion would be nice. make sure they also put up a wind sock and helo pad for the trauma hawk!

The new trail system sucks!

Wait until deer season start up again. all the hunters are not allowed to use there atvs for hunting anymore, that is unless they set up there tree stands along the sweet trail system.  Ha! Ha!

Just my 2 cents if you are unhappy with the trail system. What have you done to improve it ? Almost all the trail systems in the U.S.A. are maintained by volunteers. The people operating the equipment to smooth out the trails are volunteers. And I thank them for doing it.  I'm just tired of all the whiners on this site. There are many people on this site who agree things could be better and are working on making improvements. And they could all use some help.

You dont know what you are talking about.
I didnt really see it until now, they have made it so restrictive that it is not even enjoyable any more and when they want us to pay for it too...........I dont think anyone will even ride the forest anymore. This is the end result that they were after.

Hell nobody maintained it before the trail system was put in place. Just rode where you want. Didn't hurt a dam thing. Should have listened to Lisa.

I wonder how much the fine is if someone were to go out there and actually maintain the trails themselves with a couple pieces of motorized equipment???  Grin

Its not even really about the maintenance, I can ride whoops. Its about jamming everyone on a small network of trails and then trying to charge them for it. There are no "destinations" just loops of trails that all look the same.............sand, whoops and thick pine trees. You can no longer ride in Rodman pit, which wasnt really much fun, but my kids liked it. You also can no longer get to the Eureka pit legally. We used to ride to Eureka, which was about 10 miles, and the kids could cut loose and take a break before riding back.
How exciting is it for anybody (especially wives and kids) to ride in a single file line all day, breathing in dust and never getting anywhere that opens up a little to have some fun.
If we could only go back 5 years when we could ride at night, on an almost unlimited # of trails, in some sand pits, and there was some "adventure" left in riding in the forest.

Jamin people onto trials is not an idea of theres. There idea is to jam so many people onton trails. Word is there will be a limit on how many people ride, and charged by person not per family. Should have listened to Lisa, Viper.

you obviously have never been up to ocala and ridden on the new trail system. If you have and actually like it then you are blind and naive! We are allowed to voice our displeasure of the trails any way we like. If you think it is whining then don't reply or waste your non-whining time reading about it. They don't need trail gooming volunteers. Who cares? A  couple of whoops don't bother me or a family of 5 going 5 mph. There will not be any improvements. the system will actually get worse. What was needed before this junk was implemented was some money to hire a team of lawyers and put this implemtation into litigation for years and years.

Two years ago I bought a place in Hog Valley, those were the days!  Now it's over, on my last ride I went south to find the "Open" areas all the way past 40.  You know what I found? Stupid little signs everywhere that proclaimed the trail closed to motorized vehicles but "Foot Travel Welcome".

I have seen it happen before at the Big Cypress NP.  The vocal minority prevailed with the help of the sympathetic NFS  employees and more importantly lawsuits.

I am going to bring my boat and enjoy the river next time, I will still ride because my sons want to, but I will be sad knowing that they will never have the opportunity to go out and ride at night or explore like I did.

Once the areas are closed they never open them up again, maybe some of you have heard of the addition lands in the Big Cypress.

If you want to make a difference vote Republican and hope they place a choke hold on the funding for the NPS.  Less Money = Less Rangers

ONF is in a nut shell a huge disappointment. I as well as many purchased my 4 wheelers mostly in part because of the fun I used to have there. But I am currently putting high hopes and focus on the MAY 19th ATV Rally in Lakeland. We all better be there whether you ride a little or ride a lot. United we stand and Divided we Fall.....

  Thanks wilburz!  Kiss

This can be undone.  Funding, Federal Funding was yanked from Jeb Bush's pet project Comprehensive Everglads Restoration Plan by the folks of this state. If a handful of folks could yank funding from a Govenor's hands, think what two hanfuls of us could do to Forestry!

I am totally serious about this folks. It is doable, and we can do it!  Evil

Oh boy! This is good. You all know me and the family are in. We will be at the May 19th rally even though we all saw it coming and took the wait and see attitude. Now, we have a problem and we need unite and fight this chit. Some say, "oh the government runs the forest" PHUCK THAT, I say, "we run the government (THE CITIZENS)" , therefore "WE" should decide what happens in "OUR" forest and if we unite, organize and keep the pressure on, THINGS WILL GET DONE AND PEOPLE WILL LISTEN (for you non-believers)!!!!!!!!

It would be nice if the ATV manufacturers would lobby for our rights in Washington to keep OUR forests open, after all if it wasn't for us buying their expensive machines, they wouldn't be in the ATV business. What are they doing for us? We have all seen their commercials on TV showcasing their ATV's riding through woods, mountains and streams. Where is that fantasyland? By the way, that new trail system at Rodman is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I nearly got creamed headon on going around one of their narrow blind corners. I was there this Sunday and the only thing I saw groomed was the parking area. The pit was surrounded by about 80 of their asinine little white "foot travel only welcome" signs.....pathetic

PERHAPS IT IS ALL A SET UP OR CONSPIRICY SO THEY CAN HAVE AN EXCUSE TO SHUT IT DOWN ONCE SOMEONE IS KILLED> WONT BE LONG GUYS!!!!
