Alan (molonyltr19) had a pretty nasty crash at Bartow today. Missed a gear on the face of a double and came up way short and nosedived into the upside of the lander.  He was slammed onto the lander and the bike flipped on top of him. He got twisted and crushed pretty bad.  He's in ICU right now with a lacerated spleen and possible broken shoulder (awaiting x-ray confirmation).  He may need surgery if they find out the spleen is bleeding into his abdomin. Just keep him in your prayers. Thanks.

Man! That's sad to hear Darren. Let him know that I'll be praying for him and hope he has a speedy recovery. I did that same thing at Lakeland. I was just lucky to have my rear tire clip the top of that nice double they used to have and it bucked my rearend up sending me over the bars. Keep us posted on how he's doing.

He is in Tampa General.  Don't think he will need any as long as he stays how he is.  They are still waiting to see if it's bleeding into his abdomen though.  Thanks for all the prayers

Thanks everyone.  The shoulder is not broken, however now they think he tore his rotator cuff and we are waiting on the orthopedic surgeon to let us know for sure.

I don't know the kid but I certainly wish him the lesser of the potential injuries and a speedy recovery.  Be sure to take a laptop and show him the good pics taken at the race.  I'll keep him in my prayers.

That's terrible.I mentioned that kind of injury on the post where the guy in Ocala died.I thought it was his Spleen. Then you see something like this.
It's one of the main reasons why tracks freak me out.I like to jump, but I catch myself sometimes trying to get more air.I will definately be more cautious now.
Best wishes for a fast recovery!! I hope he's able to keep riding.

He was cleared on the shoulder and spleen.  I'm actually going to get him from the hospital now.  Seems like everything is fine but he won't be riding for a little awhile  Huh

Thank you all for your prayers and all the words of encouragement. I'm home now after a rough weekend at the hospital. My spleen was bruised and the outer layer was the only damaged part. No external bleeding thankfully. My shoulder also is fine. Now just a 6 week recovery with no contact sports or riding at all  Cry  One of the worse parts was not being able to eat or drink for 2 days!  Roll Eyes Thank you all again!

Thank God you didnt sustain any major injuries. Thats my biggest fear riding mx tracks is coming up short on doubles. Those 6 weeks will feel like forever but when you can finally get back on that bike and get some air...Lets just say its one of the best feelings in the world!! Hope you have a speedy recovery.
