sorry for the rant but my daughter had a spelling bee this morning and was eliminated due to the dumb-@ss pronouncing it wrong. i felt terrible for her cuz she studied so hard  and was eliminated in the first round. (and that wasnt one of the words on the list so i dont know what the heck they were doing) i know its no big deal just some spelling bee but it was a big deal to her hence a big deal to me.
again sorry for the rant but a spelling bee should be conducted by someone who knows how to speak english correctly. Angry

Oh that's heart breaking, I feel you pain.  I think it hurts the parent more than the child sometimes, we see how hard they try at something, and then to see them disappointed and hurt - really really breaks your heart.  And yea your right, it is pretty sad that they have some nit-wit pronouncing the words. For that is so important.  Poor thing.  She will bounce back, perhaps she can get them next time.....
