My dad just sent me this. Read the story before scrolling down to the pic.

The fellow in the pictures is Larry Earley, He lives about 30 miles
from Orlando, in the very rural community of Okahumpka, just off the
Florida turnpike in Lake County, Florida. He has 20 acres of land and
on it, a few cows and horses. Mostly it's pasture land that is fenced
with woods surrounding him.

He is neighbored by a larger cattle ranch.

His neighbor has complained for several years that wild hogs had been
raiding his cattle feeders and salt licks.

Last month he saw what he though was a cow in his pond and went to
see  if it was stuck in the mud and would have to be pulled out. When
he  got close enough to realize it was hog, the thing made a charge at
him. He had driven his truck down to the pond and carries a pistol in
it (as any Florida redneck would, and I say that with genuine
affection). He got his handgun and when it came at him again, he shot
it twice and killed it.

Wild hogs in Florida usually run from 100-400 pounds with a 400
pounder being a monster. Because this one had been feasting on grain
for several years it had grown to mamoth size. When Larry took it to
the processor it weighed in at over 1100 pounds!

The meat has no wild taste, as it was grain feed an! d the Larry is
quite the hero. He has fed many fireman and provided the homeless
shelter in downtown Orlando with a couple of meals.

8 or 9 hundred maybe, but 1100pounds? dunno if I believe that measurement.

biggest I seen was a boar we nicknamed Marvin over in Edgewater that when he was taken down weighed in at 450ish dressed.

That pig took two quads and about 6 guys to get in the back of a truck.

Would hate to run into one of them on the trails!  I think my Desert Eagle 50 may be what I need to carry from now on.

Larry looks familiar, could he be from around the Ft. Pierce area?

there is no way that thing is domestic, one look at the cutters, if this was domestic the teeth would have been cut at like 1week old, second look at the fur and short legs on it. Also no every hog is  a razor back in florida, i shot a 300 pounder like a month ago it had mabye 1/2in cutters Sad but it wasnt a razor back either. Remember there is more than one kind. But who knows what kind that is Huh. I seen somewhere that a guy shot like a 1200lb boar in georiga about a year ago but had short cutters on it and he buried the whole thing

That was supposed to be at some hunting reservation. Snopes.com could not verify it to be true or false because the owners buried it after they took the picture. My question to that would be, Why would you not use that thing for advertising your hunting reservation? If I owned the reservation he would have been stuffed so that everyone would be talking about it and and making reservations to hunt with us. You would not just take a picture and then bury the thing.

Just guessing but I almost got about 1500lbs worth of hogs yesterday with my truck going through Plant City. Of course that 1500lbs was a total weight of the 8 hogs. Not bad for an afternoon drive!! Heads up "Bacon" the Ford is coming!!
