I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha Rhino. What can anybody tell me about them? And how fast do they go, and will it go through mud?

i have one, and there fun to mess around on with your friends and for going mudding. it takes alot to get them stuck....they do tip easy but with the role cage your usually ok, just watch your arms and legs. mines a 660 and my friend has the 450 and you can tell a major power difference. they are pretty fast for something so big

they are smaller than the Arctic Cat Prowler, Kawasaki Mule, and Polaris Ranger.

We have a 06 Special Edition, only paid a little over $10,000 out the door brand new (including tax, tag, title, dealer prep). Do some research you may find a new one for less than what you will pay used. We love ours, they are a few inches narrower than other side by sides. We take it through some deep, muddy stuff and it hasn't let us down yet! Definitely a fun toy to have. Plus you can carry bigger coolers and stuff.

The rino will run circles around most mules. I dont personally own one but I have driven one and they are allot faster then you would think that they are.

I think Mules are aimed more towards farming, not extreme offroading. If u compare the height of the mule and rhino, u can almost tell instantly the Rhino will be better offroad. I think Rhinos get up to around 35-40mph? I dont own one but thats what everyone says. I have seen a turbo setup for them, 60% more HP

According to what I read they are limited at 37mph. I know you can get the cdi box and it will go faster.

They have a Black Rhino? I think the blue special edition looks nicer than the silver sport.

I got the chance to drive one today. A brand new stock one, and got it up to 49mph. Supposedly with just a few cheap mods, you can hit 60mph eaisily.

Stock limiter is at 7500 and with stock tires that limits top speed to about 45-46MPH. CDI will bring it up 5-6 MPH and the clutch sheave can give you another 5 MPH. To go any faster you have to start looking at dual pipes, BBK, cam.

I think he was refering to the CDI Box called BLACK RHINO, and not an actual Black Rhino.
