If you mean that you bought a pipe and other go fast stuff and you dont have riding gear then I agree with dad. You can open your air box up, jet your carb, pull the core out of your exhaust for less than $50 and get 95% of the power that the high $ parts will get you. Do yourself a favor and dont ride that bike without helmet, boots, chest protector. It is not a matter of if, but when you crash. If you are young enough for it to matter what your dad thinks then you are a lucky kid to have a bike like that. Be safe and have fun.

he bought you a TRX450R and is NOW worried about too much power? get some protective gear and put the new parts on. i dont think it will take you 2 years to be ready for some bolts on if you are already skilled enough to own a 450. how old are you and what type of riding do you do?

i wouldn't sell it. you are not going get what you paid for it and then have to spend that money again for the same parts at a later date.

can you return it? you really need a helmet. and chest protector and boots and all that stuff. a 450R is fast enough for now. trust me. you will get killed and not ever be able to ride again if you have a wicked fast bike and no gear. trust me, you WILL crash. like mentioned above, it is not if, but when. i have crashed like 200 times (maybe not that much but you get the picture). so GET PROTECTIVE GEAR!!

There are a couple issues here IMO. One is what they all said. You WILL crash. Doesn't matter how carefull or how good you are. You will crash and it will hurt. SAFETY should always come first. You should have a killswitch and ALL the protective gear before you think about modding the quad!
Second, you lied to your dad! You deliberately did something that you were told no. If he is letting you ride still but have to get rid of the stuff, you are lucky. If my kid did something like that the quad would be gone for a few months at least......maybe even sold for being irresponsible and for lying.
...
Either box them up until you can save money to purchase gear like you were supposed to or see if you can sell it for what you paid for it. If you have never bolted it on then you might be able to.
Sorry if I sound mean
, but sometimes we all have to things we don't like. It is unfortunate part of life and growing up..

the gear is way more important then the power! and if you want to go faster then you should buy suspension, which is also a safety issue and will help keep you safe

Or you could just get a job, move out on your own, pay rent & bills like your dad & also pay for your own insurance. Be sure to get a life insurance policy also since you bought the pipe before the gear. The other choice is to do what your dad says the first time since he was nice enough to buy you a 450 in the first place. If it isnt fast enough stock, then no matter what you do to it you wont ever be happy. I say contact the company you bought it from & hope they have a good return policy.

The truth is sometimes painful, didnt mean to be a jerk, but as a dad, sometimes tough love is needed. Good choice & good luck with your trx. Ride safe.
