It wasn't that bad on the trails. The parking areas were crazy. Its not safe with all the kids zipping around more people need to discover the kids area so there arnt so many little kids riding around the parking area. I won't be good when a truck backs into a kid on a lil 50 or something.

I agree. Its like driving a car in traffic, plan on the other person not knowing your there and you'll be ok.

I hope you guys are looking at the post about the protest!!Two more spots were shut down yesterday. One in Sarasota, and Englewood.Croom is crowded cause there's nowhere to ride.
We need people to show up, or you may be looking at nothing but Croom.
The 29th of this month in Naples will be a protest. If anyone wants to go, call me and we can go together to show we ride and care!!

Dont get me wrong I know we have to do something before we lose the land we have but getting upset about getting kicked out of Illegal riding areas isnt something you should really complain about.  When the "MAN" see's that more and more people are using areas such as Croom an ONF they will be more likely to open more land. When they listen to people complain about not being allowed to annoy neighbors, destroy private property, tresspass and litter (i know thats not all riders but we all know there out there) that gives them the impression that there is no need to keep the land open that they currently provide to us, much less provide more land.

That wasn't the point. The whole purpose is to show they can't keep closing off area's for recreation without opening new riding area's, or there will be continued problems. If we don't show up to support it, then they won't think there is a majority enough to care about.
You can fight for more riding area's, or you can keep going to Croom!!

I would not mind going to these protests but I work during the week from 6 till 6 just to make it by.I would even use vacation days if given enough notice or if I had any available we need to have group protests on weekends when the majority of us are off work.

The post has been on here for a while now. That's why they do it on business days...it's business to them. They hope noone will take the day off to show up...it makes there numbers look greater.Sometimes sacrifice is what it takes.

Once again i feel the need to say dont take this as me not being concerned but they are not closing recreation areas, they are protecting private land after they are called by the land owners. You dont seam to realize that your "fight" is for them to create more areas just like Croom (the place you complain about). I dont think a protest will spawn the response you want. They are not going to stop inforcing trespass laws. What is needed is for more people to write letters to their local / state government thanking them for areas like Croom and ONF and provide suggestion to them on how you want your taxes and regristration fees spent, providing those areas with more money to improve and or expand or create new areas. Again the more people they see using the areas already avilable the more likely they will be to provide more land for our use. So yes i will keep going to Croom, I will keep sending Emails up the chain explaining the needs for recreation areas all across Florida and better maintance for the ones already in existance, and i will continue to remind others exactly what our fight is, To keep the areas we have and hopefully get more land in those areas or new areas created where it is legal to ride. Complaining to the goverment that private land owners are no longer "looking the other way" will get you nowhere. Land values are going up and people want money. A certian peice of land me and my friends used to ride at will soon be a golf course. It sucks but complaining to the government that they should not let the owner sell it to make money wont work. Showing them just how many people will use newly created areas will. Just me .02

We're not fighting for the right to ride on these private properties. We want more places like Croom, but with more maintaining.I have no problem with devolopment. But to sell all this land for future housing for retirees is not right. We live here and pay taxes, we have a right to some land for our purposes too.
