I tired everything, drained the oil changed the filter, checked the air filter, checked belt drive. Could it be the spark plugs? Any ideas or suggestions?

First thing, pull the plug.  Make sure its clean and you have spark.  If you have spark, make sure your gas is turned on and the plug is getting gas (ie wet).  These are the first basic things to check.

Will you hear the engine trying to crank if you hit the starter in neutral? If not it's to do with a dead battery or fried starter. If it is trying to crank, then it could be any number of things. Gotta start with the basics, check your manual.

The engine is trying to crank, it seems like it's not getting a spark. I will check the plugs as you suggested and let you know.
