I ride at Croom and have been for years but I have never camped up there.  I was thinking of taking my son and a friend from work up to ride and camp.  My question is how secure is your stuff up there at night when you camp?  I know the horror stories of stuff getting stolen at the hotel there at the entrance so I was curious about back in the park at night.  Does everyone kind of look out for one another or do you need to make your stuff pretty secure.  Having 2 brand new bikes stolen a year ago I am kinda leary about losing another set.

Afew years ago I didn't worry about anything.  But for the last couple of years we always lock everything.  Just didn't want to take any chances.

I have camped there 4 times now and have had no issues......It is set up though where you can park your quads close to your tent/RV.
I always try to park on the left side of the camp grounds across from the bathrooms and showers......
All in all I think your stuff is safe but I never chance it......Lock them up and you can sleep better..... Wink

I always lock up my atv even when it is on my trailer. You don't want to take any chances...

We camp there about 8 or 10 times a year. We leave our quads out but we do cable them together. I have heard of a few incidents of stolen bikes but it is rare. The ones stolen weren't locked down. One of the rangers lives behind the camp graond and he patrols a couple of times during the night. I wouldn't be worried if you have a chain or cable to lock them.

I work at night so I can ride during the day, leave at 2 in the afternoon. take a 4 hour drive  to work then back again. Be back by 2 in the morning.
