4x4
« on: September 06, 2006, 07:37:59 PM »

I am looking to sell my 95 Dodge RAM 1500, in order to get a 4x4 SUV..

I just dont know which one to go with..

I was looking at the
Chevy K-5
Ford Bronco
Jeep CJ Series
Chevy Suburban

I would like to go with a V-6, and as far as i know the only thing in that class, is the Jeep CJ Series..

Please let me know which would be the better SUV, pro's and con's of them..

Also if anyone has one of these vehicles for sale, at a decent price, let me know

Don't get the Jeep. Both Jeeps I have had were problematic to say the least, so cross that one off your list.

the k-5 blazer would be too heavy to use off-road..

i think i am going to stick with the Jeep Wrangler I6..

There is a local place, that sells used jeeps, REAL decent prices from what i have been told, and i also work with a guy who restores and sells jeeps..

THANKS,
Tony

I did some research on the jeeps before i even went to look at one, and it WILL NOT work for what i want..

The Wranglers are ONLY rated to tow 2000 lbs.. I need something capable of at least 4000+

I am going to go to a place on monday that has all different kinds of trucks and look at 4x4's.. I want to stick with the SUV tho.. I will give up the 8 ft bed, that my Dodge 1500 has, for 4x4.. I normally tow my ATV on a trailer anyhow..

i am going to be heading out in a little while to check out this place, and see what they have as far as 4x4's..

Just curious, is it possible to take a 4x2 and make it 4x4 ?!?! I have been told it should only require a new front axle and adding a transfer case with a little more work involved on some trucks..
