I did some riding today on the new trails. Since I'm leading the sport ride I thought that it would be a good idea to try and stay on the new trails. They are not marked worth a crap, you come to a fork in the trail and there is no sign to tell you which way to go. They still have a lot of work to do. Going back out tomorrow to ride it some more, now that I think I have it figured out. The ATV pipeline trail is pretty cool because it is either new or really old and not very used. There are some really tight and twisty sections (if your bike and helmet arent scratched up, they will be), some fast sections and plenty of whoops.  Also lots of logs down and plenty of pointed branches waiting to impale you.  I cant give a total mileage for the ride because my GPS turns off in the whoops.

Could you please take a shovel with you and level off the whoops a bit so it won't be so rough?   And if you have time trim some of those pointy branches.............J/K thanks for doing the homework to make the ride a success  Thumbs Up

Went back out today and rode a few more hours, the Pipeline trail is just plain not well marked. I had a trail map and a GPS and its not easy to follow. I'm going to go back up and pre ride some more to get our route dialed in. There are quite a few sections that are new and not beat down at all, barely wide enough to fit through. Those areas will give you guys an idea of what the XC races are like. I'm guessing that it will be around 50 miles.
By the way I saw a fox, a deer, and a bear on my ride this afternoon.

We are meeting at the ORV headquarters on FR 88 north of HWY 316. I know the whoops you're talking about and my group wont be going there.

Marion County Emergency mgmt is providing 2 first responders for each ride.  Also, we will have Hot Dogs and soda available when you return at $ .25 each
