From what I understand a 14 years old can run in the Outlaw class if his bike is 400cc or less? The child must have a drivers license to run a bigger motor and be at least 16 years old.

if they do you won't have a little kids class. 99% of little kids won't have anything close to an alcohol bike even small so if you happen to have one it pretty much would shut everyone down. little kids won't continue to race if they don't have a chance to win. they are the future of racing so it needs to be more fun than competetive at that point Cool

at this point i am going to allow alky and over rides. tony and i was just talking about the over ride thing. we feel that it would be safer for a young man to keep both hands on the bars other than taking one off every time he shifts. tony is on his way to a big race and i would like to wish him luck.
we have some 14yrs and 15yrs down he that have been running 6.50's on the 1/8 mile and have been doing it for a long time. if they can do it there they can handle it on the sand.
terry son is 14 and going on 15 soon and has been running the 1/8 for a few years now. if i say no alky and no over rides, terry is going to have to spend a grand to go back to gas and stock trans. terry is a single father and really dosnt have the money to do so. terry will be there for the meeting and he can give his side of the story just like anyone else that wants to show up.

Jeff don't take this wrong but this is how I feel about this.  i hate to say it, but if we are gonna make the rules so kids can ride, because it would cost to much for someone to change to race, or because they won't be able to race for another year, etc. then we are not doing it for the safety of the kids.  if we are gonna put rules into place for safety, then we should not care how much it cost someone to meet the rules and regulations, we should sit at the race track peacefully knowing that we are doing everything we can prevent an accident.  instead of looking at it like it would cost him a grand to change back to gas and no override, we should be looking at like this, he only has to wait one year to race with the big boys.  If we are going to make the rules so all of our friends are happy, then we don't need to have a meeting, because their won't be any rules.  I have said this time and time again.  This is how it needs to go down.

1.  Elect officers (President, Vice President, Treasure)
2.  Elected officers create the rule book.  Your not going to please everyone so truthfully you don't need everyone's input.
3.  RACE - if you don't like the rules or the classes, so be it.  At the end of the day, the officers know they did the best they could do.

I have done this before, everything.  Set rules, make classes, take entries, work the track, run the race, set up the lights, run the race, race, tear the lights down, pay out the money, etc.   It might not of been the most professional ran race, but it went over smooth and it was fair.  Bottom line we are doing this so everyone has a great place to race, everyone can have a good time and be safe.  Just my opinion.  I am firm in my beliefs and that won't change.

" You are going to allow" HuhHuh , I thought that we all agreed from day one that EVERYTHING was a " group" decision, correct me if I am wrong.                           That comment kinda rubs my feathers the wrong way !!, Its almost as if you are already making the decisions before the meeting/vote. If that is the way its gonna be speak up now before we hold this meeting, and continue any further.
Remember, we are supposed to " cater" to the majority, to get as much as possible for the turn out. I do not see the safety in what you are " allowing", Also remember, If you allow this kid to do it, then there is gonna be another who will want the same thing( only the second one might not be able to handle it, and gets injured)
