There is a committee called South Miami Dade Water Shed Committee that meets to discuss (as a part of their agenda) recreation on South Florida Water Management Lands. I was told by some big people on Friday that fishermans, bicleclist and hunters go to this meeting to make sure they are included in the master plan of SFWMD Recreational Plan but that never have they seen an atver or anyone addressing atvs except for South Florida Agriculture Cops telling them we destroy the land.

Now, the next meeting is August 31, 2006 and there is 2 chances were the public can comment, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They document it in writting and as part of the Meeting Minutes if you submit it in writting either before or after your 3 minute speech.

I was advised by one of there Project Managers that this meeting they will be discussing tradegies for implementation for the next 40 years in Florida.. So we need to be included in this... If you can attend at least the hours during the public comments, if you can't just email them and send them a letter. Try to get someone you know that can attend to address that atv's needs to be included in the master recreational plan.

The link to all this is in:

http://www.sfrpc.com/whatsnew/menu2.htm
and click on South Miami-Dade Watershed Study
you can find the next meeting and agenda

The agenda will be found for this meeting in there later on this month but you get the picture.... Imagine the impact of SFWMD not taking atv into there plan for 40 years and the law passes in 08 that they wont be held liable for lawsuits. That would suck that for not letting them know we need a spot we wont get it.
