Oh yeah, can we not ditch those cones, or atleast move em over to the berm. I hit the big one in 4 and it got me loose enough to ultimately end up on my back the first time. I realize it sounds like an excuse, but why put em on the track itself. The whole idea of the cone is to let us know where we shouldnt be. There were several times those 2 or 3 feet would have come in REAL handy. Another thing too i forgot to mention, that will be brought up next drivers meeting. If i am wrong please correct me. When your runnin a class (beginners especially) with lets just use oh say.......14 bikes or so. The heats should be used as qualifying rounds, should they not. Heat 1,2 and 3, 5 laps, 5 bikes, top 3 advance. Now youve narroweed your field down, also you just ran 15 laps in 3 heats instead of 16 in 2. You can run the main w/ 9 bikes, 12 laps. This is just an example based on the turn out we had this time. Not only is it safer , it also allows the riders to stay a lil more crisp come time for the main, which in itself is safer also. The smaller fields i guess can run just like they are, but when youve got that many riders, looks like to me itd be best to atleast split em up. If time is a factor then run fewer heat laps OR water the track during intermission with the truck and not a garden hose. LOL. Just my .2 cents

I guess so. I let my determination get the best of me. Was way too aggressive there at the end. For the most part after my first spill it seemed i was constantly tryin to get around somebody with stok tires. Man that makes me super nervous in the corners. Several times all i could do was watch the azz end of a couple of em just jump all over the place in turn 4. I would have a good run into the turn and stik it out there, only to have to lay back. I just knew when that rear left tire came off the track on a couple bikes in front of me it was just a matter of time before that machine caught traction and would go over. Its one thing to take myself out but to get tangled up in somebody elses mess, just aint worth it. Right aftre the first heat, i guess somebody complained and said (get this) i was "intentionally throwin dirt into the crowd along the front stretch". I think it may have been right after lappin those two bikes comin out of 4. I was hammerin on it full bore, when i came out i got a lil squirrely and fish tailed it pretty good. I think my representative spoke well enough for me when she was approached,so i figured if i didnt hear anything straight from the horses mouth than it was a dead issue and it would probably be best to just " let it ride". I dont understand not bein able to run your headlights, whats that all about. For those who know a lil sumpin sumpin about the yfz, that henders the performance of that bike. Oh well ill just rig it next time. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed everyone.

Left rear tire off the ground??? Can you say "swaybar"?? Superstar, you might be safer running the intermediate class since they at least have tires like you and there isn't as many as in the beginner class. sooner or later knobbies will make for good video!
I heard about the dirt into the crowd thing but I think that was as much the tracks fault for letting the surface get so dry.

I didn't see how you ended up getting upsidedown but that is exactly what happened to me a few months back...clipped the cone, spun to the left, hit the berm, flipped over.
You other point is well taken and it has been discussed repeatedly. The beginner class is too big to be safe. Here is the most popular fix. In order to keep the racing safe and fair if more than 10 are entered (two rows of five) then the class will be split. For example, if there are 14 again like last race then the beginners will have a 1st and 2nd round heat with 7 each. The average of your finish from the heats will qualify you for either the beginner A Main or B Main. The only negative is if you are big on getting a trophy, the track says there must be 9 entered for 1st thru 3rd to get a trophy otherwise only 1st and 2nd will get one. The positive is when compared to SandMountain you get to race more. This is meant to work out so the faster beginner riders race together in their own Main and the slower in theirs. I think I may have just said the same thing you did!

I can tell you that Tim Farr is not coming to the next race. Raced him at Sand Mountain! Hes an unbelievable TT rider! Raced Natalie at Sand Mountain too! It would be cool if Tim was there but hes not going to be.

Sorry about this misinformation regarding Tim Farr. I passed on what I was told at the track Saturday. I did get a call last night and was told Tim was at Ocala last Weds and ran a bunch of laps but he was already back in Pa for a race...
