Quads street legal
«
on:
May 27, 2006, 10:02:29 PM »
Just got back from a South Dakota vacation and could not believe what I saw. I saw at least 6-8 quads driving down the roads with tags. I reckon you can get tags out there for these things. I didn't see any specials equipment on these things they just looked like regular quads. I don't know if I would want to ride on the road too much they seem a little tippy if you have to swerve too sharp.

Different States have different laws. So yea it would be sweet to ride our quads on the roads.

I thought you could do it in florida too if you get the proper equipment like turn signals and stuff. Pretty sure anyway. Around here you'll see it alot too, just would be nice not to get stopped by the cops. I mean, there's enduros like the XR650R.

You can't rida a quad legally on the streets in FL. The law states you can't driave any 4 wheeled vehicle on the street that you have to straddle the seat. If you made a 1 wheel swingarm you could do it. Then it would be a three wheeler. A couple of years back there was an article in Dirt Wheels about a guy who did that to a Raptor and road it from California to Jacksonville. They showed a picture of him getting pulled over.

I want to take one of my 350Xs & make it street legal. I need to go get all the info on what has to be done. I know you need lights, brake light & street tires.

I dont see why there could be to many restrictions on em. Hell theres no state inspection on vehicles. Whats the difference in me runnin the z monster down the road at 45 or 50 and jose luis gonzalez frias dominguez runnin his 1980 toyota corolla down the same road. Odds are if i didnt have any turn signals at all id atleast have as many as he does.

I've seen many cruiser bikes with no turn signals, and there licensed .They just use hand signals to signal direction.

I don't think you have to have blinkers.
