Miami-Dade police department continues to experience problems with 911 system
 



MIAMI (AP) -- The Miami-Dade Police Department is having problems with its emergency 911 system.

In a statement, the department says the problem is with its Bell South network.

Those calling in may hear a series of popping or loud clicking sounds, which may not be followed by a normal ring tone. The department says if you are trying to reach 911, stay on the line and your call will be answered as soon as possible.

If you do not hear the clicking tone after five seconds, the department says to hang up and try calling again.

The investigation into the problem continues. No word yet on when it will be resolved.
