I have seriously been pondering the idea of cutting my fenders ..

I know alot of people say you get dirty blah blah .. thats doesn't really bother me , whats the point in riding if you affraid to get a little dirty ?

What exactly is the purpose of this ? Besides it looks badass , and that it suppose to help in trails , and I've read a little about helps top speed a bit ....

How many of you run cut fenders ? and do you have pictures of it ?

If its done right it looks great. I run flat track and some moto-X and it helps to be able to see your front tires when you are close to someone going threw a corner at 60mph. Also when you hit a 30 to 40' dubble you quad wont act like a big kite..

I say just cut them! There arent enough reasons not to, lol. As for the getting dirty part... i heard its not that bad (fixing to find out first hand sometime this month)... But even still.. YOU GET DIRTY ANYWAY! LOL. At least I know I do.

Here is a closer one of mine cut. Yes if you go through puddles you will get more splash on you but like you said ...you're supposed to get dirty.  But I say CUT EM. It looks a whole lot better. Cool

i guess nobody knows how to cut them? I know sometimes people will break your balls if your wrong on some of the posts on different threds ive scanned.  so if anybody has any idea or so much as a clue as to what is type of saw or blade use just pm me.if you know  what line i should cut on a z400 it would be a bonus. let me know and i would much ablidged. it seems the z has bulky fenders compared to other bikes ive had in the past. and not only that, the bike is up high and it is very tipsy .When  im hitting corners i have put my body extra low and wide.( if ya have a z you will know what im saying.) Im only 5 '9 so my torso is isnt long enough to see around the fenders so when im haullin around tight single trac turn i cannot  see whats ahead on the trail.  THANKS

Im cutting mine tommorrow, along with painting the red hood white, ill post some before and after pics when i get done, i just plan on using a dremel with the cutting wheel and then some sandpaper to finish it off.  Ive heard of alot of diffrent methods, from a jig saw to a regular utility knife, even heating up a saw blade and using that to cut through, im sticking with the dremel method.
