Newbie from Cali

(oops, I think I posted this in the wrong place the first time)
I have been checking this site out because I am curious about what atv riding is like elsewhere. I finally joined for the heck of it. This is so different than what it is like in California! All that mud and tropical climate you guys have! I race in the desert races here and I am attempting to become the first woman to solo race the Baja 1000 race this next November in Mexico on my atv.
Right now I have a Bombardier DS650 Baja X and Yamaha Banshee 350-with full Duncan race engine. But I have decided that I am going to try my next Baja 1000 race on a Honda TRX 450R.
I write stories about my races on my website. My most recent race story was from when I became the first "Ironwoman" to ride solo in the SCORE Baja 250 race:
http://www.mccrearyracing.com/SCORE250.html
Anyway, just thought I'd share a little since I have been peeking at what you all are up to for a while!

I go out to Vegas for the CES show every year and after I spend a few weeks in Ca. I am always jealous of you guys and that endless sand and mountains!!
I have always dreamed of slapping paddles on my ATC 250R and ripping
up that desert!
Nice site. Keep up the good work!
Here is what we do.

Welcome to the site. It's great to have someone from the other coast.
Jakyl, Your problem is obvious, You need to get rid of them stock tires and that wont happen as often.

Good luck with the racing!! I would love to check out a desert race. All the sand we ride in down here would be a good start. You won't be dissappointed with the 450R.

Dude, You were right behind me, As soon as it went under it stalled the tires were turning just fine. Nothing a little dielectric grease won't fix.
No, I have a BoyScout camping trip this weekend with my boys. Ya'll have fun.

LOL, they are gone in favor of 26" Gators now. I feel like my teeth are going to fall out though.
They wouldn't have helped me anyway, up ahead on that "trail" when I was trying to walk out I sunk up to my waist in muck. I almost couldn't get myself out...

I tried to look for some sand shots we have since you're talking about the sand dunes...but I don't have any with my ATVs in the sand so here are some with our dune buggies...
This one is in Mexico (San Felipe) and you can just see the beach in the background:

Yeah, I am with ya Ida !!! I am jealous too !!!
How about we trade her some of our "tropical mud, for some of that Glamis sand" !?!
We hope to make it out there sometime this year to check how the riding is on your coast line, By the way we drag our banshee`s, and Ds650 bajas.
Good Luck on your up coming race !!!!
