Worst wreck/injury you've had riding...

Well for me, I cased that medium sized double there at the Seminole track, on the supercross one. Nothing really exciting, just that the Blaster didn't have enough speed to quite make it all the way over. What really did me was that I had already cleared the jump 3 times, but just hardly, but I was for sure starting to get thingyy. Well I come out of the turn (with a Blaster at stock width, you basically turn at no more than 5 miles per hour....) and just didn't get the speed I needed. Well, next thing I know, I'm there with the wind nocked out of me, and this dirt biker comes to see if I'm alright. I say, sure, sure, though I'm preety sure I broke my collar bone, because I could feel it. But I'm thinking to myself, no biggie, get me a sling and a gatorade and I'll be fine. Well, the parametics smooth talk me into a ride to the hospital, which I'm still bugged about, because of the $$$ of it. I was EXTREMELY light headed though, everything was really far off and blurry. Kinda like when you stand up too fast after watching TV, but I just couldn't shake this off!
Well, my Dad had a heart attack over it, like it was such a big deal and everything. To me it was just too bad, but not the end of the world... But for some reason it get me preety depressed the way the whole thing turned out, it being such a big deal. It left me wondering, what if something serious actually happened, what would everyone be thinking then! I broke one bone, that heals by itself for crying out loud!!!
Then one time at Croom, again thingyy, on my Blaster with no front brakes (mechanical drums, before I knew how to adjust them), I'm riding up and down a very hilly area with alot of turns. It's near like a lake, it was a few years back, so I don't remember too well. Anyways, I blast up it, and see like a drop off right infront of me as soon as I came to the top of the hill. I try and brake (hardly works) and turn to the right to take a trail down the hill. But my front left tire was like right on the edge of the drop off, which was extremely steep, leading down to like a swampy lake or something, a good 20 or 30 feet down as I can remember. That really scared me, to me I thought I could have died if I would have flew off that, because the speed I was going, I would have flat landed a 20 foot jump straight down.
Well, that was a book and a half, I for one like reading these kinda stories on other forums, so I thought I'd start one here. I haven't had any real crashes on my RM yet, just a few cases that have made my heart turn ice cold, but no crashes yet.
So let's hear some of your stories!

umm, i dont really have any good stories. But i was just riding out "a spot" with a lot of steep hills (non of which i really went up lol) and there was a hill with a bit of a ledge on the right side of it. i headed up it and was a little too far to the right, hit the ledge and it sent me off track. I tryed to grab a tree right next to me so i wouldnt fall and my bike would roll down, but i guess i didnt have enough strenght. So i lost the grip of the tree and fell like 7 feet down onto my back/right shoulder. Knocked the wind out of me for a bit but i was ready to ride with in 5 minutes of explaining how i effed up lol. felt it the next 2 days though.
Same spot, same day, i was riding up a hill that wasnt very steep at all. Got near the top and my foot slipped down and knocked my bike into neutral, no biggy my brakes would hold me until i could get off. BUT then of course my swingarm guard catches a root or something and sends my quad flipping down the hill. I luckly did what was described as a superman dive out of the way and barely missed the rear tire to the face lol. The guy i worked with that night said i had a minor concusion (an EMT), but i didnt feel all that concused (lol), although i was pretty dizzy until i went to sleep. Neither hill was really that big though, just beginner's error's. They still hurt though.
Next time i'll probably try some of those vertical hills so, more stories to come!! lol

well back in the day of 3 wheelers(you youngins wouldnt understand).
i was riding down us27and griffin road(no helmet back then)fullthrottle on 5th gear when i decide to cross from the road to the dirt path which was about 8 inches lower then the road. well once the back tire went down it turned my bike completely down the slope into a wooded area(no brakes).
i figured that was it. all i remember was flying horizontally in the air and hearing a loud thump when the tree hit my leg. when i came around i was like "thank god i'm gonna get away with just a broken leg". well didnt break my leg but scared the hell out of me and bent my forks all the way to the motor.
someone was watching out for me.

Seminole used to have a nice size double back in the day, I'm guessing about 60 feet, nothing too major. One time I was going up to pass a guy over it, he turns into my way, I turned out of the way, and didn't have the speed to fully clear the jump. Snapped my Renthals with my hands, broke my most of everything from my wrist down. My wrists still aren't healed, if you ever see me, I'll show you, it's pretty nasty

Alot of these threads on other forums have cases like that, coming up short on a jump or over jumping something and breaking wrists. Seems like a preety bad injury too, like they don't really heal that well in the long run.

When i was around 8 or 9, i had a suzuki lt80, and it was my first time riding in the woods by myself with my own quad instead of doubling up with my parents...Anyhow my dad and all the guys were in front of me riding at a quicker pace then me, and creating a nice dust cloud, so i didnt see this big ole rut, and i hit it wide open.. It ripped me off my bike but i was still hanging on to the handle bar holding the gas, well somehow my foot got wrapped up in the rear tire and ripped me completely off, the bike after laying there for a minute or so, my dad and the other guys came back to my aid....If i wasnt wereing my riding boots, i probably would have not had an ankle....

RODMAN GROUP RIDE
January 21 2005 , racing across the pit on my YFZ on paddles. got to loose due to the rough conditions and cart wheels and somersaults from there. at least that is what I was told. I dont remeber much except from what I was told my spectators. many said it was pretty cool. I was hoping for some video of it but no such luck, ended up casing my collar bone in 3 places and wasnt able to ride for about 3 months. introduction to OXY COTTON

the kids ride at eurika sumtime in october; we were going to chillin's and my sister accidentaly went the wrong way, so i went speeding after her. I guess she figured out that no one was following her, and decided to turn around right after a turn. well i couldnt see after the turn, and i was just going, and i saw her right as im cuming around the bend (at the last min) and since i was going fast to catch up with her, i didnt really have alot of time to slow down.
i tried to slow down, but it wasnt enough, and so she saw me and slowed down, almost to a stop, and turned her wheels. i hit her head on and flew over the handle bars, landing half on the ground and half in a hard bush right next to a big tree. i had scrapes and bruises all up the right side of my body, but luckily my sister didnt get hurt at all, she just ran up to me crying and asking if i was ok. but it did hurt

Dang, that's some story!
Norris, yeah too bad there's no video of your crash there. Luckily my little trip over the bars at the track was on video, but I seem to have lost it. At first it made me sick to watch it, but once I was all healed up and everything was fine, I thought it was kinda funny.

Yea that was a bad one. I was right behind him when it happened...alll I saw was the rear end bounce from one side to the other then Bill and the quad disappear in a cloud of sand.
I have had so many I lost track but the worst of them was at the 1st Speed Ride down at Scrubb. All was looking good for a great day of high speed trail riding. I had been out that morning getting the shocks set up and they were performing great. Made a couple fast solo passes down the whoops and everything seemed great. Everybody showed up and off we went. I started down the powerlines somewhere in the back of the pack with Dreth leading the way of course I had to make my move on him so I started trying to work my way past the group to the front. We hadn't gotten more than a mile down the powerlines when my day came to an abrupt end. I had the throttle pinned and was doubling up most of the whoops probably running about 60 at this point when all of a sudden between the whoops was a washout ditch where the water had been running off the road. I must have hit it just right and it caught one of my front tires and jerked the bars sending me off into the scrub brush on the side of the powerlines. I tried to correct but it was to late the quad was almost sideways at this point and the rear wheel hit a good size stump sending the front of the quad back the other direction and head on into a Scrub Oak. The bumper caught the tree and sent me over the bars head first into it as my whole body just kinda folded up against the tree. Everything is kinda blurry after that but I do remember laying there at the base of the tree praying I would be OK. I still remeber the first words Dorian said once they figured out I was alright..."Dude I just knew you were going to be dead"! I very well should have been had I not been in full gear. Not much doubt in my mind had I not had on my race collar it most likely would have broke my neck. I suffered a good bit of nerve damage to my right side where my elbow got crammed into the muscle/nerves and walked with a limp for a few months because of it. After that I have kept my speed riding for the track and haven't rode like that in the woods since. Here's some of the pics from that day.
Thinking about it I want to thank everyone again that was there for all their help and support that day and a big thanks to Ida for the special meds!

lol Hard to tell from the pic but my eldow was about twice the size of normal already. I couldn't even move my arm till late that night after I got home. The bumper still hangs on the wall of my trailer as a constant reminder of that day and how fast things can go bad wrong. My helmet was cracked clean through the shell...

riding with rancher350kid and a few other people at the hump . about 8 months ago. we were all topepd out . and we start to slow down
i am already into 4th jsut cruising....next to a friend on a raptor 660. this was all on the blaster , which had drum brakes, WHICH WERE WET.....YEAh. lol
so the guy on the raptor stops and icant stop. i pass by yelling "oh SH!T!!!!!" i hit the roadblock , people say i flew liek 15-20ft up or so.Some say the bike flipped , others dont know. but i got up , helmet flew off during the impact , i hit my chin on bars , atv landed 25 ft from me ( on all 4 wheels luckily)my chin hurt , my elbow hurt , my a$$ hurt , and my wrist was KILLING me!and to top it off i had to ride back ALL The way driving with only my left hand.on a bumpy trail with a lot of tree roots.
i had a cut on my elbow , minor bruise(the next day) on my chin , bruised ass cuz i had landed on a rusty shot up propane tank(morons) , and i broke my wrist and fractured my middle finger(lower part though , near my palm , clsoer to my wrist). i wsa in a brace for 2 weeks then they decided to put a cast fro antoher 3 weeks.
so the damage was:
dented front left a-arms on blaster.
bent both front rims.
popped right front tire.
bottom piece of bumper chipped.
broke nerf bar.
and REALLY scratched up frame under.

Was this recent?
?
Mine was when I was just riding around in this empty lot in my neigborhood and the is a bunch of clay piles just dumped there. So I was just messing around on my Raptor and I went to jump one of them, (I wasn't even going fast, maybe 15) and when I landed my foot came off the peg and the tire sucked it under, then my IMS pegs just sliced into my leg...... In the end I had about 5 internal stiches and 17 staples in my left leg. I will never ride without boots again!!!!!

I'm really thinking of getting one of those type of jackets with pads and everything on them. But there's so many different brands and models. I guess I should just pick one and go.
And also, here's like a little screen shot off the vid or my little crash.
