Has anyone on here had any dealings with this member. One of my coworkers traded a blaster and cash for two jetskis. He had the title for one and was supposed to mail the other title and he has not recieved the other title. Taintedpaintworks will not call back and his mailbox on his phone is full. He was sent a PM yesterday also and has not replied or will not call back.

not saying tainted is not legit. but how many times have we seen this on the forum. you guys cannot buy something without a title.
no title, no sale.
the buyer always gets burned.
hopefully tainted will reply and its just a gliche.

That is correct, He had a title to one of them and was supposed to mail the other one. Now even the website phone numbers to Tainted Paint Works are disconnected. He must have had a legitimate business at one time.

We sold him our old XR200R, I think he's turning around and selling it for aprofit. He seems a little fishy to me though, when he came to buy the bike, the way he was... I think he just buys and sells bikes for like a living for some reason, he responds to like every for sale and wanted thread here.

lol, I don't think you have to worry about being shot unless you draw first. Regardless, feel free to stop by and introduce yourself anytime. As for the title, let me give you the full run down here just to clarify everyones concerns.
I originally acquired that jet ski from a boat mechanic who did work on it and the owner then refused to, or could not pay for it. The mechanic put a lien against the vessel and I have been waiting for him to complete the paperwork which, he has been taking his own sweet time doing. I have picked up the title and mailed it out, it will most likely reach your friend on Mon or Tuesday as promised. I hope that you will post to this forum when it is received just to clear up any misconceptions. As far as not responding to your PM, I did not do the deal with you and I have Tony's number should I need to get ahold of him, he also has mine. This being the case and tensions running as high as they are over this, I cannot see any point in dealing with third parties, I would rather the information traded be direct and accurate between myself and my buyer. I.e., I did not take your money nor your 4 wheeler and therfore have no business with you, only Tony. I can appreciate you looking out for your friend however this is between him and me. No threesomes here.
As for my replies to the for sale threads, yes, I buy things, fix them up and resell them when I've bored myself of playing with them. I fail to see what the big deal is with that. If you have a product to sell, as long as we come to an agreed price and I show up with the cash, what I do with the item afterwards is my perogative. As for my sign business, I was bought out by a nationwide chain, I now have another business building high end custom motorcycle trailers and car haulers as well as refurbishing used trailers. I simply keep the tainted paint works web site because I have already paid for two years of hosting in advance, I can use the gallery to post pictures of the stuff I sell and I don't have to go through the trouble of changing my email address.
If anyone else has any questions of concerns, feel free to post them here, if I have not already addressed them, then I will be happy to reply. Otherwise, I encourage the buyer beware rule. If you want to buy from me, come look, touch, test ride or whatever it is that makes you comfortable. If you are'nt comfortable, then don't buy, it's that simple. If I am buying from you, as long as you're getting cash, then I fail to see a problem, if you are concerned whether or not my cash is real, say so, I carry a counterfit pen with me and you can feel free to borrow it or bring your own. Bottom line, I don't ship things so if you buy and you are'nt happy, you have no one to blame but yourself because I assure you that you had every opportunity to inspect the merchandise before handing over your money. If I am buying from you, you can bet that I will be checking things over and if it breaks on me the next day, I won't be calling you to complain unless you gave me a warranty.

First off I would like to say that I posted his quad on here to sell so Thats how I got involved in the purchase. Me and you PM'ed each other and sent pictures back and forth so that made it some of my business and made it a threesome as you speak. You never told him that the jet ski had a mechanics lein on it and that it could take a while to get the title. You told him that you forgot the title and would mail it when you didn't actually even have it. He also said that he had called you and you said that you had already mailed it when you hadn't even had it in your possesion. He also tryed to call you and your voice mail was full and he could not leave a message so he was thinking that you were trying to ignore him along with other people. We went to your website and and the phone number went to your cell phone which had been disconnected. What were we to think. I did some research for him using the internet and found your new number and thats when I told him to call you at that number and then you said that you had the title in your possesion and that you would mail it priority mail that next morning. I was giving you the benefit of the dought after that message and then I would have posted that he got the title. You act like you did nothing wrong. If you had of told him that there was a mechanics lein on the ski he probably would have never purchased it from you. I care to never do business with you again or will never recommend you to anyone. Sorry.

Actually, I told him "it would take a few days for me to get my hands on the title and get it out to him" but I should be able to get it to him within a week. And yes, you did connect me with him through this site however, the deal was not with you making your involvement irrelevant.
As for the mechanics lien, as long as the title was clear and legal and not a salvage title indicating the product had been damaged, I fail to see a difference.
I don't seek your recommendation or opinion, I do however believe you have a right to post it here. I only ask that you acknowledge that he received the title when it arrives, nothing more and nothing less.

Sorry you fail to see the difference, If the title had a mechanics lein but you did not have the title available because of this, it may have made him decide if he wanted to purchase it or not. If you had of told me it had a mechanics lein but you did not have the title then if I was purchasing it, I sure would not have given you any money until you provided the title. That is a big difference.
You said "The mechanic put a lien against the vessel and I have been waiting for him to complete the paperwork" That tells me that you don't have the title.

Moose, he gave us a tracking number yesterday so he mailed it out yesterday. He said he was mailing it last week but evidently he didn't. The tracking number is good so when we look at the title and see that its clean I will let you know.

Now that it has been established, that the title has been delivered, I would just like to say the following.
1. I do an honest business and deliver what I promise. If at anytime I felt that I could not have delivered, I would have reversed the deal. I will admit that this has definitely not been my smoothest transaction however, sometimes things don't go as planned and all you can do is sort it out. Unfortunately, that is what happened in this case, but at no point was anyone in danger of getting stiffed out of what they paid/traded for.
2. Buyer beware is a good policy, as I said before, if you are'nt comfortable with a transaction, then you're a fool to part with your money and deserve what you get from people less honest than myself.
3. BUSINESS PARTNER!

The seller did not have the title in hand during the sale and the buyer still gave him the cash so that makes him seem a little foolish in my book. If your willing to hand over cash and not get the title on the spot then you put yourself in a situation such as this one. If Taintedpaintworks has an item for sale in the future and it was something I wanted I would have no problem doing buisness with him because I would have the option to check it out and it would be my decision to buy it or turn it down. Buyer beware yes but it's also buyer be smart. Hey,the guy came up with the title in the end and the buyer took the chance to start with by paying without the title in hand. I can see both sides. Also if the guy buys bikes and then sells them for a profit I would give him credit instead of bashing him. That's an honest side income.Again if you don't like what he's selling or the way he sells things then you have the option to not buy it. Don't take a chance on a buisness transaction if your not prepared to pay for your gamble. Just my 2 cents.

That is correct to some point but James flat out lied about having the title and who the ski belonged to. Yes my coworker took a chance because James said that he forgot the title and would mail it when he got back home, when in fact some guy was putting a mechanics lein on it and the paperwork for the mechanics lein had not even been finished. He flat out lied several times so maybe you will do business with a lier, I care not to. Here is a link to someone else that has had a problem.

So what type of work did the mechanic do that the original owner couldnt afford to pay him for? Did the mechanic use OEM parts or cheap used reconditioned parts?? I can tell you 2(James & Clay) IMHO you guys are hustlers & much less than honest. I can guarantee you if I was looking to buy the skis, & you even breathed one word about the mechanics lein, i would have NEVER given you a dime for them! But then again I would have never handed over cash without a title especially with your lame excuse of "I forgot the title". That was the dealbreaker!!! Oh yeah, someone a while back searched out this guy on this site because he ripped him off, so that should have been the big red flag to begin with.
