Took these with my camera phone while at the Dr's. last Wed. Shows repaired collar bone, steel rod with eight screws, and five broken ribs, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8.

Anyone else have any, show'em.

Well I don't know about being any tougher than the next guy, but I wasn't about to post pics of the bruises I got. Don't want to get the ladies excited, yea I wish. But the worst bruises I have ever had I tell ya.

Thanks for all the good words from you all, I'm doing much better now. I want to go ride real bad, so I must feel better.

3 weeks until I see the Dr. again, so longer than that. Had to let a friend ride my quad today just to keep the oil circulated once in a while. I'm going to take lil moose to RR the 10th, I have to let him ride. I'll just ride around in my truck and take pics, look out you all.

Parents, show your kids this, tell them this is what can happen even if you think you are being careful. I thought I was being careful, but I missed that steep incline on the right side, hit it and the foreman rolled to the left real hard and fast. Slammed me to the ground, good thing it was soft dirt. Ruined my weekend, and the rest of the day for those that helped me out. So the costs can be more than money.

I was right behind him and he was in 1-2 on a ute which means less than 10mph.  It was really a freak accident because Moose has made the manuver that caused his accident many times w/o incident.  A chest protector would have prevented all his injuries.

Moose, you didn't ruin my weekend.  I was just worried about you.  I'm sure it changed lil' Moose out look on things.  If he would have seen how slow you were moving and that it shouldn't have happened you'd probably have a kid that was begging for gear when he rides.

I'm glad things are getting better.

I got a question man

How do they put the rod in? Splice you open and insert? then drill some screws to hold your colar bone together?

YUP, that's about it. The screws go into the two pieces of bone to hold them untill they heal. Will stay in me from now on.

I can't believe it, but I re-broke my collar bone. I was helping a friend work on a house, and just pushed to hard, and snap. I knew it wasn't good right away. In five minutes it got numb and swelled up to the point I could hardly move my arm.
The Dr put in a steel plate twice the size of the first one, so I hope this one holds. I'll try to get a pic of it when I see the Dr in two weeks. I'm getting tired of this.

Yep, broke it and the bone again. At least the screws held.

That's the bar you see in the first pic with 8 screws in it.

I will be going camping ASAP, I can hang out and lil moose can still ride.

I'll be taking it easy for a while longer. The Dr. said 3 more months, I'm not a happy camper. Come on Aug. 18th.  Cry

Let me tell you, listen to the Dr. and get healed before you go back to normal activity. Going through this twice is for the birds.

Here's a pic of the new larger steel bar they put in.
