Just curious, who lets all these riders into Surburban Estates. Does someone leave the gate open or just sit there and let whoever shows up come in. Is there any commettee wacthing over the property or is up to the landowners to control. When I owned property in there years ago it was strickly enforced as a hunting lease. that meant you didnt come in unless you had a key and proof of ownership. That cut out the duplicate keys. Landowners guest we invited but not the droves that I see coming in. What happens in the event of an accident. If it happened on someones property they could be held liable.

I agree....it is like a circus sometimes, and I dont think everyone out there is a land owner...but not sure how you could police it.

Most people out there are good, and carefull, but alot of them are not..it is annoying at times.

I think a key change is coming up soon, that will knock out a bunch of people for a while, but they will make it back in. Grin Angry

New keys would help. But it's just a matter of time before some landowner who doesn't care about the big picture on preserving this property as a great place to ride and camp makes copies of his or her keys to sell or just give out to friends. Controlling access remains up to the individual landowners. They must limit the number guest and stand firm on tailgaters trying to get thru the gate with no key or proof of ownership. I've been down there on weekends and observed the gate left open for anyone to come in. This is the same type of behavior that wrecked this lease when it was strickly for hunting.

ATTN:  LANDOWNERS!!!!!
SEPA MEETING!!!!  Suburban Estates!!!!(Holopaw) Sat. January 7th @11:00 a.m.  If you are a land owner lets try to go, figure out how to regulate the use of OURproperty by NON LANDOWNERS!!!!!

For directions to the Meeting go to:
http://suburbanestates.net/forum/sepa.php

We should:

1)  Immediately change the key
2)  Get a current list of land owners within the state
3)  Devise a new way to secure the entrance of landowners only!!!!!

If anyone here is a land owner....let me know you are coming to the meeting!!!!!!

Actually, this is appropriate here too. This is a great forum as it's used by thousands of outdoor enthusiasts that are not only looking for a place to ride, but also looking to CONSERVE these places.

As the state of Florida slowly closes public riding places and/or envelops them into "conservation" areas, the desire for "private" riding land is at an all-time high. Unfortunatly, alot of these private lands aren't large enough for the demand. At this point, it takes common sense, as well as courtesy for fellow landowners to try to keep some order to your riding experience.

As mentioned in a previous post, most landowners at SE shun the thought of a public announcement for a group ride, as it invites many non-owners with NO INVESTMENT in the area, and could attract the one ore two bad apples in the group, causing problems for everyone. But, that said, most LANDOWNERS would love to participate in a group ride, as they share THREE common points of interest:
1) Riding
2) The great outdoors
3) Conserving the area for future rides

As far as SuburbanEstates.net is concerned, all land-owners and their guests (read close personal friends) are welcome to join and share thoughts and pictures.
